Introduction to Yuyangguan Town

Yuyangguan Town is affiliated to Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County, Yichang City, Hubei Province. It is located in the southwest of Hubei Province, east of Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County, two provinces (Hubei, Hunan) and four counties (Yidu, Changyang, Wufeng and Shimen County, Hunan), rich in fish and sheep. A pass was established in the Yuan Dynasty, named Yuyang Pass. It is one of the important economic towns in Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County and a transportation hub for Wufeng to connect with the outside world. On April 14, 2011, with the approval of the State Council, it was agreed that the headquarters of the People's Government of Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County would be moved from Wufeng Town to Yuyangguan Town. Yuyangguan Town has historically been the "throat" from the Jianghan Plain and the Three Gorges area to the mountainous areas of western Hubei. It is known as the "Little Hankou" and is the east gate of Wufeng. It is also the industrial center, commercial center, market center and cultural center of the county. The center is also a key town in the construction of small towns and a famous tourist town in Hubei Province.
