Introduction to Haxi Town, Gansu Province
Haxi Town, located in Tibetan area, is a very distinctive ethnic township. It has a special geographical location and the beautiful aspirations and hopes of the Tibetan people. Everyone lives a comfortable life, the family is harmonious, and all kinds of traditional food are available. This is a great place for a tourist vacation. This is the tour guide of Hasi Town.
Location: Haxi Town, Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province
Without Xiao Yan’s kind invitation, I might not have been able to reach Wuwei, a remote town in northwest China Haxi Town, Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County.
Xiaoyan is a Tibetan herdsman, an angel on the grassland, and an eagle in the snow. He said that grassland can cultivate people's mood, and Haxi is a place to purify the soul.
Xiao Yan is generous and hospitable. Hasi is his happy hometown. The construction site was not very busy these days, so Xiao Yan suggested going to his house to have a look.
He said that he had introduced his home to our colleagues before, and his parents had been urging him to invite us to play at home. Although it is not the most beautiful season on the grassland, his family prepared mutton and highland barley wine, and treated us to a big bowl of meat and wine!
I am impatient. We talked about this topic at noon and decided to start in the afternoon. I made an appointment with Zhang Gong, Jiao Jiao, and Xiao Zhi, and called Guo Yu, Xiao Yan, and me, and the six of us set off on time at three o'clock in the afternoon.
This is Xiao Yan’s village, climb to the top of the mountain.
Guo Yu is my friend. Because he often comes to the construction site, he is familiar with everyone. In fact, I was mainly worried about the bad roads. There is a Toyota Prado in Yuzhou with relatively high driving skills. I am bold and loyal and make a good traveling companion.
There is also Yu Guote who can drink. I have to prepare it in advance and then stop drinking. I can’t embarrass myself in Xiaoyan’s family.
On the road, I made a unified rule for everyone. In order to prevent the leaders from discovering that we secretly went out, no one is allowed to post any messages on Weibo, WeChat, Moments, etc.!
Let’s learn about Baidu first: Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, hidden in the southeast of Wuwei City, is surrounded by mountains and peaks, with vast and lush forests, year-round snow, green grassland, surging rivers, and air Fresh and beautiful environment. It is known as the "Golden Basin of the Plateau".
Tianzhu is called Huarui in Tibetan, which means the tribe of heroes. By the summer and early Han Dynasty, Rongqiang, Shiyue, Xiongnu and other ethnic groups were stationed here for pasture. Since the time of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, they have been included in the territory of the Han Dynasty. After the Tang Dynasty, a multi-ethnic settlement with Tubo (now Tibetan) as the main ethnic group gradually formed.
Haxi Town is located at the foot of Moqi Mountain in the northwest of Tianzhu County, the upper reaches of the Shiyang River Basin, and the junction of Gansu and Qinghai provinces.
Haxi is Tibetan, meaning "father's seat".
Xiao Yan called his brother-in-law in advance. His brother-in-law lives in Huazang Temple and is waiting for us at Huazang Temple. In fact, he is not his brother-in-law, but his brother's brother-in-law.
If this kind of relationship may not matter in our hometown, but they get along very well here, it should be said that their relationship is really enviable.
When we arrived in Hasi, it was already dark. Xiaoyan's family specially slaughtered a sheep and put a large plate of mutton on the steaming Kang table, eating the mutton and drinking mutton soup.
The host warmly invited us to sit on the Kang, which should be their higher etiquette here.
Yan’s parents, brother-in-law, and brother-in-law were all there, and they also invited friends to drink together, which made us a little embarrassed. According to the custom here, guests have to flick their ring fingers in the air three times before they can drink the wine given by the host.
This is a kind of etiquette that shows respect, and it is also a kind of reverence for heaven, earth, and gods (some say it is Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha). It's a pity that I can't learn anything.
When Tibetans treat guests to drinks, they must drink to their heart's content. That's what makes them happy. I drank this wine until three o'clock in the morning. I really can't drink. Pretend to be drunk (actually really drunk) and that's the end of it.
Every time you drink wine at night, you must eat a bowl of beef noodles (less noodles and more soup) immediately the next morning, so that the wine can be melted away. Beef noodles became my sobering soup while living in the northwest. The beef noodles next to Haxi Bus Station are pretty good.
After breakfast, Xiaoyan took us to see the grasslands and snow scenes
There were scattered yurts and the legendary Manidui along the way. Xiaoyan said that those yurts are used to receive tourists during the peak tourist season. Xiaoyan said that there are many wild mushrooms on the mountain. We can eat them after picking them, but we don’t have time to pick them.
There is a small river in the valley. The river is not very wide, but the current is very fast. The roar of running water echoed in the valley, sounding like stormy waves from a distance.
The water is very clear and extends to a distance that we cannot see. Xiaoyan said it was called Shiyang River. In the past, the water quality of Shiyang River was polluted black because people mined gold here. After several years of vigorous renovation, the original color was slowly restored.
We originally planned to have a barbecue in the valley, but due to the mountain closure and fire ban, we decided to give up for the sake of this beautiful grassland and blue sky and white clouds.
On the way back, Guo Yu felt unhappy. He felt that the scenery was not as good as he imagined, and the ethnic customs were slowly fading away. He felt a little regretful that he did not have the national costume and white khata as he had imagined.
But I am happy. I really feel like my soul has been baptized and is as pure as this snowy grassland.
I came with a heart of gratitude and respect, and the truly beautiful scenery is in my heart. Like this mountain, like this water.
Hasi means my father’s camp, and of course this is a heroic tribe.
I like the pearl of the snow-covered plateau and miss this beautiful and holy pure land on earth. Watch the eagles flying at the foot of Moqi Mountain, listen to the waves of Shiyang River echoing in the valley, and let the gifts of nature wash away the complicated soul.
If I have the chance, I will definitely come again. I fell in love with the mountains and water here. Every time I come here, I feel as familiar as my hometown.
Unfortunately, no matter where I go, I always come in a hurry and reluctant to leave. I don't know when I will be free. Maybe when I'm free, I'll never come again.
Zadler.
