The role and value of Yecheng Museum

Ye City’s axially symmetrical layout, single palace system, and clear functional zoning design concepts have had a profound impact on the history of ancient Chinese capital planning. In order to strengthen the protection and utilization of the Yecheng ruins, Linzhang County commissioned national experts and scholars from the China Institute of Cultural Relics and the Department of Architecture of Southeast University to formulate the "Yecheng ruins protection master plan" over a period of six years. , is the second major site protection plan in Hebei Province and the first major site protection plan in Handan. The Yecheng Museum project is a major project implemented by the county in accordance with the "Yecheng Site Protection Master Plan" and is also a major event in the construction of the county's cultural tourism industry.

According to the Yecheng ruins protection plan, the county selected the museum site outside the protection scope of the Yecheng ruins, on the northern extension of the central axis of Yebei City, about 300 meters south from the Yecheng North City Wall ruins. The museum has a total budget of 21 million yuan, covering an area of ??65 acres, with a main building area of ??5,228 square meters, a main body height of 11 meters, a gate height of 21 meters, a length of 66 meters from east to west, and a width of 50 meters from north to south. Such a huge museum is only one thousandth of the area of ??Yebei City. After the museum is completed, it will be mainly used to collect and display the cultural relics unearthed in Yecheng, promote the history and culture of Yecheng, undertake the research and dissemination of the history of Yecheng, and double as the Yecheng archaeological workstation. At the same time, it is also the tourist service center of the Yecheng ruins tourist attraction.
