Longtan Ancient Town is a famous historical and cultural town in China and a national AAAA tourist attraction. Longtan Ancient Town is located in the southeast of Chongqing City, in the hinterland of Wuling Mountain, covering an area of ??1.5 square kilometers. Longtan is formed by two water caves shaped like "dragon eyes" under Fulong Mountain that often accumulate water. The ancient town passes between the "dragon eyes". , shaped like a "dragon nose", hence its name.

Longtan Town is located in the southeast of Youyang County, Chongqing City, 30 kilometers away from the county seat. Because the two water pools in the town look like "dragon eyes" and often accumulate water to form a pool, they are named "Longtan". Covering an area of ??7.2 square kilometers, it is home to 54,000 Tujia, Miao, Han and other ethnic groups. In the 13th year of the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty (1735), it was destroyed by a fire and was moved to the Longtan River (formerly known as the Meisu River) to be rebuilt.
