The Historical Evolution of Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center

Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center was founded in 1992, covering an area of 225,000 square meters and a building area of 240,000 square meters. Located in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, close to Wujiaba International Airport, Railway Station and Second Ring Expressway, it enjoys an excellent geographical position, convenient transportation and complete supporting services such as catering, accommodation and entertainment. After the completion of 1993, the first Kunming Export Commodities Fair was successfully held in conjunction with five provinces and seven parties. It is a well-known exhibition enterprise with rich exhibition experience and "one-stop" quality service, which integrates comprehensive service functions such as exhibition, conference, catering, property, hotel, fitness and entertainment. He is a member of International Exhibition Management Association (IAEM) and vice president of China Exhibition Hall Association. It is the window of Yunnan's opening to the outside world and the leading enterprise of Yunnan's convention and exhibition industry. In 2004, the Exhibition Center became the first exhibition enterprise in China to pass the ISO900 1:2000 international quality system certification.

In 2005, in order to solve the system and mechanism problems that restrict the development of the convention and exhibition center, the convention and exhibition center carried out the corporate system reform around the establishment of a modern enterprise system, from the aspects of rationalizing the relationship between venue property rights, rationalizing the nature of assets, and rationalizing the relationship between investors and management subjects. June 65438+February 3, 20051,successfully transformed into a company-owned enterprise controlled by Yunnan World Expo Tourism Group, and explored the profit model of enterprise operation of exhibition venues. Through long-term unremitting efforts, the exhibition center has become an important exhibition activity base in provinces and cities, and one of the influential exhibition venues in western China. Our goal is to become an international regional convention and exhibition center open to Southeast Asia and South Asia.

The exhibition center consists of five operating departments: exhibition company, exhibition service company, conference catering company, property management company and hotel, and holds Yunnan World Expo International Exhibition Co., Ltd. ... to provide six services: exhibition, conference, catering, property, hotel and fitness.

The new Kunming Convention and Exhibition Center has six large indoor exhibition halls with an exhibition area of 50,000 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of nearly 20,000 square meters, which can accommodate 2,600 standard booths. The old museum has an exhibition area of 35,000 square meters and can also be used as an indoor exhibition hall. The supporting outdoor parking lot provides nearly 1300 parking spaces.

In recent years, there are nearly 40 professional and comprehensive exhibitions held in our center every year. It has successfully held the 18 China Kunming Import and Export Fair, the 5th china international travel mart, the 6th Kunming International Agricultural Expo, the National Medical Equipment Exhibition, the National Drug Fair, the 4th Kunming Stone Expo and the 5th China Yunnan Pu 'er Tea International Expo, and won the title of "China Convention and Exhibition Industry (Service Industry)" for four consecutive years.

Private brand exhibition projects: Kunming Happy Shopping Festival during the Spring Festival, China Yunnan Pu 'er Tea International Expo, Yunnan Kunming International Automobile Exhibition, China Kunming Pan-Asia Stone Expo, Kunming Pan-Asia International Folk Crafts Expo, etc.

The project construction of Kunming New International Convention and Exhibition Center is about to start. Hao Yishan, general manager of Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center, previously introduced that the construction area of Kunming New International Convention and Exhibition Center will reach 200,000 square meters, which is four times that of Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center now, and will provide the best hardware support for the China-South Asia Expo to land in Kunming. Kunming New International Convention and Exhibition Center covers exhibitions, hotels, ocean parks, tourism and other projects, including five-star hotels and super-large conference centers, with a total investment of more than 20 billion yuan.
