Introduction to Wushi County

Wushi County, part of the Aksu Prefecture of Xinjiang, is located in the west of the Aksu Prefecture, on the northwest edge of the Tarim Basin, at the southern foot of the Tianshan Mountains, and in the upper reaches of the Toshgan River. Its geographical coordinates are 78°23′41″ to 80°E °01′09″, north latitude 40°43′08″ to 41°51′12″. Wushi County borders Wensu County and Aksu City to the east, Aheqi County to the west, Keping County to the south, and Kyrgyzstan to the north. 1 As of 2014, Wushi County has a total area of ??9,082 square kilometers, a total population of 221,000, and jurisdiction over 2 towns and 7 townships.
