Asking for help from Guiyang people about Guiyang May Day travel guide
Accommodation:
Guiyang - I live in Home Inn Cinanmen, close to the train station and bus station. Book online, no prepayment required, single room 150 yuan.
Xijiang - No accommodation required. As soon as you enter, you will know that this Miao village is very commercial, with more than a thousand households basically able to stay. Even if there is no signboard, if you ask, people will be willing to temporarily add beds on the ground to earn extra money. Accommodation fees during holidays are very high, and people will say that cheap rooms are gone and only expensive ones are available. You can say that you don’t want to live in a room, but just have a bed on the floor. That is, the price is based on the bed, which usually costs tens of dollars per night. It is recommended to live in a stilted building with a large shop, because most people will stay in inns, and the hygiene is poor when there are many people. Large shops that are rarely visited have rooms for salespeople to sleep, so they have extra affordable and clean beds. , the room I stayed in had 2 beds on the floor, I slept on one (40 yuan/night) and the other bed was unused, while another tourist slept in the single room next door for 180 yuan/night.
Lande——I originally planned to stay one night, but the mist in the mountains in the morning and the Milky Way in the sky at night were so charming. Coupled with the enthusiasm of the innkeeper, I stayed one more night and really stopped. The hurried steps took a vacation just for the sake of vacation. A bed costs 30 yuan. The difference is that this bed has a wooden bed instead of a floor bunk. There are two beds in one room. On the second day of my stay, the Chongqing girl who shared the room left, which meant that I had to live in a room by myself, which was a good deal. If you rent it out, it only costs 60 yuan per room, which is quite cheap compared to Xijiang. Moreover, the scenery outside the window is the pastoral mountains and the scenery is super beautiful. Langde is not as modern as Xijiang, which can be seen from the toilet, but only this inn has a porcelain pit toilet, which is very clean and recommended~
Food:
A kind of melon is a specialty here , can be eaten as fruit, they call it "Di Lao Po", the skin is torn by hand, the pulp inside is white, and the taste is like calla lily. The Huangguoshu Scenic Area sells them for 3 yuan a piece, the Kaili Han people sell them for 2.5 yuan a pound, and the Kaili Miao people sell them for 1 yuan a pound...
Guizhou tomatoes are very small, smaller than cherry tomatoes, and round. I often see it in vegetable markets and fields. It tastes good. I buy it and eat it as fruit.
There are many interesting snacks in Kaili City. You can try many of them. Walk to the end of the Little Cross Pedestrian Street. The beef noodle restaurant diagonally opposite Kaili Hospital is super delicious. It costs 5 yuan for a bowl and 3 yuan for adding meat. You can eat all you want for 8 yuan, it’s very delicious!
You must eat fish when you go to Miaojia! In every Miao village, there is a river passing by. There is a kind of small fish in the river, which is said to be very delicious. Spring and summer are fishing seasons, and autumn and winter are fishing moratoriums. But autumn is when their first crop of rice matures. After the rice is harvested, In paddy fields, field carp can be harvested and the famous sour fish can be made. So now you can’t eat the small fish in the river, but you can eat the big fish in the field~! According to the local method, the scales and gills of the fish are not removed, and the live fish is cut in half and cut into the pot. It is very delicious! I didn't eat it when I was in Xijiang because there were too many tourists and there were many people eating it. This fish seemed to be wholesaled from the fish market, so I doubt it is authentic. In Langde, I saw Brother Chen, a Miao man, using a flashlight to catch fish. It was absolutely wild and fresh. I tasted it and it was so delicious that I ate 2 bowls of rice in a row.
Rice in Guizhou matures in one season, so after the rice harvest is completed, vegetables and fruits will be planted in the idle farmland. Therefore, when I visited Miao Village on National Day, there was a lot of rice but very few fruits and vegetables. There is nothing delicious except chili and old bacon. The so-called Miaojiale is made by Miao people who go to the county town to buy food and cook it, so after considering the cost, it is more expensive than eating in the county town. It is recommended to go to the Miao family to buy some old-fashioned bacon. It is very fragrant and delicious. I later bought Qianwufu old-fashioned bacon at the airport. It was so expensive and not as delicious as the homemade ones made by the Miao people.
The hand-rubbed chili powder of the Miao people is very fragrant and delicious. They call it "spicy noodles". When eating, add some salt and green onions and pour some hot water to make a delicious condiment, even if it is stained with water. Boiled vegetables are also quite delicious.
Every Miao family dries corn, which is said to be used as feed for pigs. Although many families raise their own pigs and fly chickens, the chicken and pork used to entertain tourists are also bought by the county. Why? Woolen cloth? Because they want to keep it for the grand Miao New Year. During the New Year, pig legs are given to relatives and friends one by one as special gifts. All Miao villages start killing pigs on the 7th day of the 11th month of the lunar calendar, and start making glutinous rice on the 8th day of the lunar month. The 9th day of the lunar month enters the Miao New Year (similar to the first day of the Lunar New Year) and ends on the 18th day of the lunar month. It's a pity that I couldn't see the lively scene this time, sorry.
The Guzang Festival is a more solemn festival. It happens once every 13 years. The time of the Guzang Festival in each Miao village is different. I found out from Langde that it will be held once every 5 years in the Year of the Horse. At the beginning of the second lunar month, the specific time will be determined. If I have the chance, I will definitely go there~
Shopping:
The real people are still spinning cotton, spinning cotton thread, weaving homespun cloth for batik embroidery The villages are all located in remote mountains. Cars are not accessible and you have to walk for hours over the mountains and ridges. Therefore, if you want to buy these precious handmade products, you have to be overpaid by middlemen. However, there is a market in Leishan County. Once a week, people from Shenshan Village will go to the market with their works of labor. I found out that it is every Wednesday, but I don’t know if the time will change. I had already missed Wednesday when I found out, so I bought some hand embroidery in Lande. But be careful not to be deceived. There will be people selling machine-woven embroidery cloth pretending to be hand-woven. Look carefully, you will see that the cloth is rough and thick, and the needles and threads are thicker than those made by hand. You need to be able to bargain.
In Xijiang, what is sold is basically second-hand embroidery removed from old clothes, and the prices are as high as antique cultural relics.
There are many silver shops in Xijiang, but many of them sell white copper. I chose a shop with many authentication certificates and bought some silverware made on site. When I came to Langde, I I asked Brother Chen, is the softer real silver? The Miao elder brother said meaningfully: No. So, unless you know how to identify it, don’t buy it...
The Miao people’s homemade beef jerky is very delicious, buy it raw and not as a snack. I bought some in Xijiang and went home. After steaming it, I found that it was smoked. It was very fresh and delicious. It was a pity that I bought less.
In Langde, I saw Miao people selling many beautiful large woven baskets. After asking about them, I said they were bought by Kaili. So when I came to Kaili, I searched specifically. Many people in Kaili didn't know where to buy it, so I was disappointed and had no intention of wandering around. I entered an entire alley selling handmade bamboo and rattan weaving. I bought a portable small fish basket made of bamboo, a double-button double-layered lunch box (when the Miao people go to work in the mountains, they put their meals in it and take them up the mountain) and a chopstick basket.
In Kaili, if you go around the alleys, you will find tailor shops specifically for the Miao people. The national costumes worn by the Miao people are purchased wholesale from here.
As well as those huge silver headdresses made of white copper, you can find many wholesale shops in the alleys.
Customs and customs:
Xijiang - Qianhu Miao Village, wins in terms of quantity, but many stilt houses are newly built, and the buns on the heads of many Miao people are replaced by wool. Migrant workers pretending to be Miao people. However, there are free scheduled song and dance performances that you can watch.
Datang - Although they are Miao people in miniskirts, they wear pants under their short skirts. It is a 100% original Miao village. There are no inns, no restaurants, and no Miao people selling souvenirs to tourists. That day at noon, I was hungry and hot under the scorching sun, so I went to visit a Miao family. Fortunately, the hostess had come to Hangzhou to work before, and she treated me warmly as a distinguished guest from afar. I spent the summer in this shabby little dingy hut. Chatting with the hostess and watching her do embroidery (color strips hung on her skirt for decoration)
Lande - the home of folk dance art, the only Miao village where the Olympic torch passes. Brother Chen, a Miao man who owns the inn where I live, is also a Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon character. He is the best singing and dancing Miao man in Langde Shangzhai. He has performed on CCTV. When he was young, he and Yang Liping were colleagues and belong to the same entertainment company. The company toured various places, and he was also in "Yunnan Impression". Now that I am feeling unwell, I have retired and retired to my home. I have turned it into a family inn. It has just started. On the day I stayed, there were three foreigners in his house. Everyone was in high spirits after drinking rice wine. Brother Chen performed some impromptu songs and dances. It was amazing. He is really talented. .
Kaili - All kinds of ethnic minorities are walking on the modern streets. They are overwhelmed and the visual sense is very special. Kaili streets are more mountainous than Guiyang, with many diagonal uphill and downhill slopes, which is very interesting. The street farmer's market is very prosperous, and there will be a whole street selling beef, with beef legs with hair and toes on them, waiting to be cut and sold. Then there is a whole street selling vegetables, and so on.
