Yongding County is located in the southwest of Fujian Province, at the junction of western Fujian and eastern Guangdong. It is one of the 9 provincial border counties in Fujian/KLOC-0. It is connected to Zhangzhou in the east and Meizhou in Guangdong in the west. It is the hinterland of Xiamen and Shantou, two special economic zones in China.
