when to go

peak season (December to February)

There is little rain (it doesn't even rain in some places) and the weather is not too hot. In the tourist season, you should book accommodation and transportation in advance.

In normal seasons (October and November, March and April)

In Yangon, from March to May, the temperature is usually as high as 4 degrees. The area around Bagan and Mandalay is hotter. The weather in Shantou area is cooler. In April, all kinds of traffic will be tense during the Songkran Festival.

Off-season (May to September)

Southwest monsoon begins in mid-May and reaches its peak from July to September. The arid area between Mandalay and Bomei has the least rainfall. No matter where (especially in the delta), rainfall will hinder road traffic.

From January 21 to January 21, Ananda Temple Festival was one of the largest religious festivals in Bagan. It is held in January every year for several weeks (but sometimes in December according to the Myanmar calendar).

in April, the water-sprinkling festival will last for three to seven days. People splash water to welcome the Myanmar New Year.

In August, Tangbang Festival, the most famous God Festival in Myanmar, was held in a place called Tangbang, 21 kilometers north of Mandalay. This festival attracts thousands of revelers, many of whom are gay or transgender.

in October, Hanukkah, the full moon in Sammon, Myanmar (sometimes in November), is called Hanukkah, which is the second Diwali. The hot air balloon competition held in Dongzhi is especially famous.

This route runs through Myanmar from south to north, with rich activities and various modes of transportation, which is quite challenging. It includes both popular attractions like Bagan and minority destinations like Wu Miao.

First, stay in Yangon for a few days to adjust, visit the historic downtown area of Yangon, relax by the lake Kandoji, visit the Shwedagon Pagoda at sunset, cross yangon river to Dala on the other side, and enjoy the rural customs of Myanmar.

Then take the overnight bus to Pan 'an, the capital of Karen State. Don't forget to set aside enough time to climb nearby drunken Binshan Mountain or experience rock climbing.

Next, charter a boat and arrive in moorman in two hours. That small town is charming and melancholy, which makes people feel like they are back to colonial times.

You can live in the city and go to the surrounding areas for a few days, such as Bilu Island, which is full of coconuts, the reclining Buddha in Duoya Temple in Wen Sheng, or the Danbiaozha War Cemetery.

Go all the way south along the expressway, pay a visit to the boulder on the top of Jade Mountain in Jidi, visit many spectacular temples in Bagu, the old imperial capital, and then experience the strangeness there in Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar.

Take the local train from Naypyidaw to Grau, where we will arrange a three-day and two-night hiking trip and visit the magical Inlay Lake.

To save time, fly directly from Inlay Lake Airport (located in Heihe River) to Mandalay.

You should take this former imperial city as the gateway and visit several historical sites around it. If the heat is unbearable, you can drive two hours from Mandalay to the colonial town of Bingulun to get some cool air.

After that, take a passenger ship or coach from Mandalay to Bagan to visit the wonderful temples dotted on the plains.

Thanks to the newly opened coach line, you can now go directly from Bagan to Wu Miao. Miao used to be an international metropolis, but now it is the most nostalgic place in Myanmar. Hundreds of ancient temples dot this idyllic place.

Take a boat to Qincun nearby another day. Take a ferry from Wu Miao to Sittwe, the capital of Rakhine State, and then fly south to the beautiful Kaparis Beach to enjoy a leisurely time.

when the skin is almost tanned, fly back to Yangon. Before the end of the trip, visit some scenic spots, go shopping, spend a day in the Duandi Delta, or learn how to cook Burmese food.
