Guangxi National Museum is the third autonomous region-level museum in Guangxi, and it is a special museum of national culture with the largest exhibition area and complete facilities in Guangxi. The construction of Guangxi National Museum began in 2003. Located in the beautiful Yongjiang River and Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area in Nanning, it covers an area of 1.30 mu with a total construction area of 30,500m2. It is also connected to an open-air exhibition garden of more than 60 acres of traditional houses in Guangxi. In 2003, the government of the autonomous region identified it as a key public cultural facilities construction project and regarded it as a key project and a gift project for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the autonomous region. Guangxi National Museum is the largest cultural facility project in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region since the founding of the People's Republic of China. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2008, it will be officially opened as a major gift project.
