Cars can travel to Tibet. If the destination of driving to Tibet is Lhasa, the car can go to Tibet or Lhasa. When driving to Tibet, the commonly chosen routes are Sichuan-Tibet Line, Qinghai-Tibet Line and New Tibet Line. To travel to Tibet by car, Sichuan-Tibet line, Qinghai-Tibet line and New Tibet line are generally chosen for the time being.

The car mentioned here should be able to go to the Sichuan-Tibet line and the Qinghai-Tibet line, while the new Tibet line is more difficult, so it is difficult for a car to walk to Lhasa for the time being.

The Sichuan-Tibet line has two lines, north and south. Cars can go to Lhasa on the guide line 3 18 national highway instead of the north line 3 17 national highway. The northern national highway 3 17 is just over 400 kilometers from Dingqing county to Naqu county, which is terrible. Even if it is estimated that it will take two or three days to walk, it is likely that it will take more than ten hours a day to walk less than 200km, because there is no food and shelter in the county, and even the best off-road vehicle can't walk there easily, which will make people collapse. However, the 3 18 national highway on the southern line of the Sichuan-Tibet line has been well built, and it is only a natural barrier between Bomi and Bayi Town. The road with a total length of about 20-30 kilometers is a bit bad, but the car can still walk, and the rest of the road conditions are good, and it goes straight to Lhasa.

If the Qinghai-Tibet line runs from Lhasa to Golmud and then to Xining, the whole journey in front of 1200km is basically at an altitude of 4500 meters. The road is very good, so pay attention to altitude sickness.

In addition, there is the new Tibet line, with a total length of 2800 kilometers and an altitude of 4500 meters. Moreover, the no-man's land to be crossed is extremely difficult to rescue without many tourists, and most places have no cell phone signal. Therefore, if there is a broken road, the car is not optimistic, and it will take more than 4 or 5 days to walk 2800km. It is not recommended that cars or single off-road vehicles take the new Tibet line.

In addition, if you drive to Tibet, it is recommended to bring an oxygen bag. The one bigger than a pillow, put two in the car, can basically absorb oxygen for 3 or 5 hours.
