Four districts, namely: Haitang District, Jiyang District, Tianya District and Yazhou District.

Haitang District

Haitang District is one of the four municipal districts in Sanya City, Hainan Province. Haicang District is located in the east of Sanya City, Hainan Province, bordering Yingzhou Town in Lingshui County to the northeast, the South China Sea to the south, Jiyang District and Yalong Bay Tourism Development Zone to the west, and Nantian Farm and Baoting County to the north, with a total area of ??384.2 square kilometers.

The jurisdiction was originally Haitang Bay Town, so named because Haitang Bay is a national-level coastal town. In January 2015, Haitangwan Town was abolished and Haitangwan District was established. Haitang District is directly under the jurisdiction of 3 communities and 19 administrative villages.

Jiyang District

Jiyang District is one of the four municipal districts in Sanya City. It is located in the central and eastern part of Sanya City, Hainan Province. It borders Haitang District to the east and Tianya District to the west. It borders Baoting County to the north and Yalong Bay of the South China Sea to the south, with a total area of ??372 square kilometers. Established in 2014, it is named Jiyang District because it follows the old name of Jiyang Town. Jiyang District is the seat of Sanya Municipal Government.

In January 2015, Hedong District and Jiyang Town were officially abolished and Jiyang District was established. Jiyang District has jurisdiction over the former Hedong Management Committee and Jiyang Town, with 17 communities and 19 administrative villages.

Tianya District

Tianya District is one of the four municipal districts in Sanya City, Hainan Province. Located in the central and western part of Sanya City, Hainan Province, it borders Jiyang District to the east, Yazhou District to the west, the sea to the south, and Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County to the north, with a total area of ??944 square kilometers.

Established in 2014, formerly known as Tianya Town. Because it is located at the end of the world, it was named Tianya District. In January 2015, Hexi District, Fenghuang Town, and Tianya Town were officially abolished and Tianya District was established. Tianya District governs the former Hexi Management Committee, Fenghuang Town, Tianya Town, 22 communities and 20 administrative villages.

Yazhou District

Yazhou District is one of the four municipal districts in Sanya City, Hainan Province. It is located in the west of Sanya City, Hainan Province, bordering Ledong County in the north and west. Area is 347 square kilometers. Founded in 2014, it was originally named Yacheng Town. It was named Yazhou District because it was located in the ancient Yazhou Prefecture. In January 2015, Yacheng Town was officially abolished and Yazhou District was established. Yazhou District governs 7 communities and 24 administrative villages.
