Yundongyan Scenic Area is located in the east of Longwen District, Zhangzhou City. In 1991, it was listed as a Fujian provincial scenic spot and a provincial cultural relic protection unit. The scenic spot starts from Jiangdong Bridge in the east and ends at Changshan Reservoir in the west, stretching for more than ten kilometers and covering an area of ??22 square kilometers. There are many and concentrated scenic spots, all located along the Qishan and Hemingshan mountains on the north side of the Zhangzhou Yingbin section of National Highway 324. The scenic spot consists of Yundong Rock, Jiangdong Bridge, Yeshan Lecture Hall (Huang Daozhou Lecture Office), Ruizhu Rock, Shishi Rock, Jukui Rock and Wansongguan. The scenic spots include many mountains, strange rocks, lush forests, secluded caves and abundant springs. The scenic spot is surrounded by Xixi River and Beixi River in Jiulong River. Many scenic spots in Yundongyan have a long history and rich cultural heritage. Both the cultural landscape and the natural landscape are impressive. There are calligraphy in various styles such as seal script, official script, regular script, running script, and cursive on the rock, as well as inscriptions in various styles such as poems, essays, couplets, and notes, all over the cliffs. It is known as "the first forest of steles in southern Fujian". It has been the oldest since the Tang Dynasty. There are more than 200 inscriptions. Xu in the Tang Dynasty, Zhu Xi, the acting scholar in the Song Dynasty, Fengxi, Shangshu Lu Wan, Chief Envoy Zhou Ying, Inspector Xie Ruyi, Hengzhou Magistrate Wu Shidian, Neo-Confucianist Cai Lie, etc. in the Ming Dynasty, Ma Fushu, Huiyuan Chen, etc. Chang Xia and others all left inscriptions.
In modern times, Pu Jie, Hong Yi, Shan Shiyuan, Zhao Puchu, Yang Chengwu and others also left inscriptions praising Yundongyan. The natural landscape of Yundongyan also has its own unique features: strange peaks and rocks, dangerous cliffs, deep caves and ravines, in various shapes and forms. Scenic spots include: Yue Gorge, Crane Room, Xiawo, Immortal Traces, Yaotai, Tianlai Path, Feilai Stone, Line of Sky, Fengdong Stone and more than 50 places. There are more than 40 caves including: Xiantian Cave, Yungui Cave, Luohan Cave, Xianqiao Cave, Shiqian Cave, Qianren Cave, etc. The mountain roads are winding and forested, and the caves and cliffs are alternately dark and dark. It is known as "the first cave in Danxia".
Yundongyan, formerly known as Shibi Mountain. During the Kaihuang period of the Sui Dynasty (581-600), Qian Weng lived here in seclusion and raised cranes. When it rains, clouds emerge from the cave; when the rain stops and the sky clears, the clouds go back into the cave, so it is called "Yundong Rock", commonly known as "Dongzi Rock" "The mountains and rocks here are abrupt, and the scenic spots are concentrated. The surrounding area is only 10 miles square. It is like a miniature rock bonsai, with the appearance of thousands of mountains and valleys. Niu Xi, a scholar of the Hanlin Academy in the Ming Dynasty, said: "Mountains are full of rocks." The rocks are beautiful and huge, and there is no other mountain like them. "Shang Shu Lu Ding's sudden collection of thousands of rocks is hugged by two meandering streams. The wind carries the clouds into the cool air, and the springs leave the moonlit pavilion bright." Summarizes the overall picture of Yundong Rock. The main tourist spots include more than 30 places such as Yue Gorge, Immortal Traces, Yaotai, Qianren Cave, Fengdong Stone, Heshi, Xiantian Cave, etc.
Yundongyan is a famous scenic and cultural mountain known as "the first cave in southern Fujian" and "the second forest of steles in Fujian". It has more than 40 large and small caves and more than 200 calligraphy inscriptions in various styles from past dynasties. Zhu Xi, an acting scholar of the Song Dynasty, gave lectures here and left the inscription "Xishan No. 1". Xu Jue from the Tang Dynasty, Cai Lie, Feng Xi, Zhou Ying, Lin Da, Lin Kui, the ancient writer Wang Shenzhong from the Ming Dynasty, Yang Daotai and Ma Fushu from the Qing Dynasty all left their mark here. The main scenic spots include Sanyue Gorge, Fairy Footprints, Yaotai, Qianren Cave, Yixiantian, Fengdongshi, Heqiu and more than 50 places. Misty clouds, majestic peaks and dangerous rocks, secluded caves in the mountains, and cliff carvings are the four most beautiful scenery of Yundong Rock.
