The development of history

In the Tang Dynasty, Dafeng District now belongs to Hailing County, Yangzhou (now Taizhou City). In the first year of Southern Tang Dynasty (937), it was under the supervision of Hailing Prison in Taizhou, the capital (now the Northern Yancheng Prison in Datuan).

In Yuan Dynasty, 29 saltworks were set up in Huaihe River and Huaihe River Basin.
