Damao mountain is located 70km northwest of Tangxian County, at the junction of Tangxian County, Laiyuan County and Fuping County, but the main peak and most natural and cultural landscapes are in Tangxian County.

Mount Damao is Mount Hengshan, a famous mountain in the north in ancient times and one of the five mountains in China. Damao mountain is the birthplace of Tongtian River, a tributary of the Tang River. There are hundreds of natural landscapes in damao mountain, in which Beigou Mountain Springs are gurgling and waterfalls are among them. On the cloudy cliff at the southern end, there is a Huanglong cave. The clear water in the cave is constant all the year round, and it is cold in midsummer. In addition, there are 72 patios hidden in the cliffs, and there are hundreds of acres of open space on the south side of the top of the mountain, with green grass and exotic flowers everywhere, just like a fairyland. Every winter and spring, the snow on the top of the mountain will not melt for a few days. "Hengshan Snow" is one of the eight ancient scenic spots in Tang County. Due to various historical reasons, in the 17th year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty (AD 1660), the worship of Beiyue moved from Beiyue Temple in Quyang to Hunyuan in Shanxi, but damao mountain was still Beiyue in the eyes of local people, and pilgrims came to damao mountain constantly. Now it attracts many tourists with its beautiful natural scenery and corresponding service facilities.
