1 Introduction

Since the middle and late 1980s, the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum has collected, rescued and protected more than 33,600 pieces (sets) of stone carvings, wood carvings, brick carvings, Guanzhong ancient dwellings, mass production, life, customs, celebrity calligraphy and painting, and collected and protected nearly 1,000 ancient dwellings in 40 courtyards in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and collected a large number of local operas and handicrafts. These collections reflect the folk historical features of the people of all ethnic groups in Guanzhong area in different historical periods, such as art, aesthetics, labor, residence, customs and habits. Known as "Terracotta Warriors and Horses on the Ground", more than 8,600 exquisite horse-tied stakes attract people's attention. Exquisite stone carving technology has greatly enriched the treasure house of China folk stone carving art and added important content to the cultural heritage of the Chinese nation. It is the historical witness of the multi-ethnic survival and cultural exchange and integration in Guanzhong area of northern China for thousands of years, and forms the gene bank and specimen bank of national culture. The construction of Guanzhong Folk Art Museum highlights the architectural style of gardens in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and plans to build different functional areas with their own characteristics, such as ancient town tour area, folk culture exhibition area, intangible cultural heritage demonstration area and folk culture research center. There are mainly 40 ancient dwellings, folk custom exhibition halls, exhibition halls, galleries, cultural relics warehouses, theaters, shops, craft workshops, research centers, artificial lakes, altar squares and garden landscapes in Ming and Qing Dynasties that have been relocated and rebuilt. The completion of this institute will fill the gap of large-scale excellent folk culture exhibition, education and research bases in China, and become a patriotic education base, a national cultural heritage research and protection base, an intangible cultural heritage protection and exhibition base, a folk cultural relic protection and exhibition base and a cultural industry demonstration base in China. It will further give play to the advantages of Shaanxi's historical and cultural resources and play an important demonstration role in extending the cultural industry chain and promoting the development of cultural tourism economy.

2 the road to protection

Hollow wooden bed, brick carved roof, several tons of horse drinking trough, ancient stage ... this is a treasure. Among the many art treasures in the collection, more than 8,000 piles are the largest. They used to be arranged in the open air like "Terracotta Warriors on the ground". These horse-tied stakes, which best represent the customs and cultural history of Guanzhong, were once symbols of the prominent position of wealthy families in ancient times. These non-renewable miniature of Guanzhong folk culture and history, it is difficult for people to find traces now, which is the starting point for the completion of this folk art museum.

Traced back to 1985. Mr. Wang Yongchao, the founder of the museum, happened to see a few horse-tied piles scattered in the courtyard of Guanzhong, and he couldn't help sighing. What makes him sigh even more is that these treasures in his eyes are facing the experience of grinding roads and paving roads, repairing toilets and buying and selling cultural relics dealers everywhere. Thus, an accidental collection has become a lifelong choice. Over the past 20 years, he has organized more than 30 people, divided them into six groups, went from village to village, extensively investigated and registered folk cultural relics throughout the country, collected and sorted them out, and invested nearly 200 million yuan. Even once in financial trouble, it has never left the road of security. Finally, with the support of governments at all levels, the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum, which covers an area of nearly 500 mu, began to be built in 2004. Today, most of the construction has been completed and it is expected to be fully completed by the end of August.

Knowing this arduous journey, all the media people who visited and interviewed applauded the protector of folk cultural relics. The famous critic Yan Lieshan's words are very representative: "This kind of protection is very valuable, and this kind of behavior is very verve!"

Although this museum, which covers an area of nearly 500 mu, is only half built and has not been fully opened, although only a dozen of the 40 houses with thousands of rooms are currently open for display ... However, these living folk treasures witnessed in front of us are enough for tourists to put it down and linger.
