Carmine lake is located in the southwest of Yuanjiang city, about 1 kilometers away from the urban area and 25 kilometers away from Yiyang city. According to legend, when Xi Shi went boating on the five lakes with Fan Li, he saw the beautiful scenery here and took a bath happily, hence his name. The carmine lake is like a huge palm with five fingers open, with a perennial water area of more than 1,43 hectares and a drainage area of nearly 9 square kilometers. The water quality has reached the national first-class standard.

Surrounded by green tea mountains and golden orange ridges, flowers bloom all the year round, trees are evergreen, and the hills around the lake are lush with oranges, peaches, teas and bamboos. The crimson lakeshore line contrasts with the green mountains and clear waters. Especially in spring, the orange blossoms are snowing, the tea leaves are fragrant, and the fragrance is everywhere. The aroma in the lake is so attractive that tourists get drunk without drinking, which makes them feel high. In autumn, hundreds of millions of oranges are wrapped in green, like mountains decorated with lights, sending the best wishes to carmine lake.

carmine lake is also a huge aquarium. More than 22 kinds of aquatic animals, such as whitebait, mandarin fish, herring, soft-shelled turtle and mussel, live together in the water paradise, playing and splashing happily from time to time.
