TOEFL writing model essay: traveling alone or in groups?

Topic: Some people like to travel together. Others like to travel alone. Which one do you like? Please give specific reasons and examples to support your choice.

Fan Wen: Traveling alone is the only way to travel. If you take someone, you take your home. When you travel alone, you will meet new people, have new experiences and learn more about yourself.

When I travel with my friend, I spend all my time with that friend. We eat together and go sightseeing together. When I travel alone, I spend time looking for new friends. It's easy to find other people to eat or drink coffee, whether it's other tourists or locals. When you eat with strangers, they become friends.

When I travel with friends, my itinerary is predictable. We keep the same schedule as at home. When I travel alone, I will adapt to the rhythm of the places I have been. I may take a nap in the afternoon and have dinner at night 1 1. I might go to a disco and dance all night.
