How to take the east-west hiking route?

There are two hiking routes, the first is from Dongchong to Xichong, and the second is from Xichong to Dongchong.

Half of the journey from east to west takes the mountain road, and the other half takes the coastline. The crossing takes more than 4 hours. Some mountain roads are steep and there are few protection measures on non-tourist development routes, so you need to pay attention to safety.

The narrow mountain road from west to east, which most people pass by, will increase the danger and slow down the traveling speed. The first two-thirds of the way is mostly boulder hopping.

Points to note when crossing from east to west

1. High-top hiking shoes are more suitable because they are non-slip.

2. Pants can be of any length, but shorts must be scratched by low shrubs.

3. Water consumption may be relatively large. Although there are creeks along the way, the water quality is not very good and is not suitable for direct drinking.

4. Prepare some snacks on the way to replenish your energy.

The beach in Tung Chung is small, and the beach in Sai Kung is big. There are fewer people in Tung Chung, but there are many people in Sai Kung, so Tung Chung will be cleaner.
