My paper on the development of the clothing culture industry of the She people in Jiangxi
As we all know, the traditional costume culture of ethnic minorities is the precious spiritual wealth of the Chinese nation, both a tangible material and an intangible spiritual carrier. In our province, the She people are the ethnic minority with the largest population. Nowadays, due to the development of social economy and culture, the clothing of men and women of the She ethnic group is basically similar to that of the local Han people. The only ones that can retain certain ethnic characteristics are in Fujian and Zhejiang, where the population is relatively concentrated. The characteristics of She women in Fujian Province are especially distinctive. Therefore, we must speed up, intensify research and protect the clothing culture of the She people in this province. Grasp the connotation and innovation of She costumes and contribute to the cultural industry and economic construction of our province.
Overview of the She people
The She people call themselves "Shanha", "Ha" means "guest" in She language, and "Shanha" refers to the guests who live in the mountains. Since the Tang Dynasty, due to the needs of survival and development, the She people have migrated from Guangdong to the north and west along the mountains of Fujian and continuously branched out. They settled in southwestern Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Anhui and other places at the right time and in the right place. They intermingled with the Han people and formed a This has resulted in the current residential pattern of “large dispersion and small gathering”. In the process of migration, the ethnic group has continuously integrated into the local culture and customs. It has been deeply influenced by Han culture and has obvious Chineseization. The She ethnic group has its own language but no written characters. Ninety-nine percent of the She ethnic group use the Chinese Hakka dialect. , commonly used in Chinese. As one of the most eye-catching symbols of the She culture, the national costumes are no exception. They are also constantly absorbing local cultural elements, forming the current characteristics of the She costumes, which are "big similarities, small differences".
The She ethnic group is an ancient ethnic group with the 19th largest population among the 56 ethnic groups in China. It has a current population of 709,000 (according to relevant statistics), mainly distributed in Fujian, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi. More than 100 counties and cities in , Guangdong, Anhui and other provinces.
The distribution and clothing culture status of the She people in Jiangxi
1. The distribution of the She people in Jiangxi
The She people in our province are distributed in 7 townships, 80 villages and more than 500 people. A village group with nearly 150,000 people, it is one of the three major provinces in the country where the She ethnic group is distributed. The seven She ethnic minority townships are Taiyuan She ethnic group in Qianshan County, Shangrao, Huangbi She ethnic group in Qianshan County, Shangrao, Zhangping She ethnic group in Guixi County, Yingtan City, Chitu She ethnic group in Nankang City, Jinzhu She ethnic group in Le'an County, Fuzhou City, Donggu She Nationality Township, Qingyuan District, Ji'an City and Longgang She Nationality Township, Yongfeng County, Ji'an City.
2. The current situation of clothing culture in She Township in our province
During the research period, the author led members of the research team to go to Taiyuan She Township, Qianshan County, Shangrao, and Zhangping, Guixi County, Yingtan City Conduct on-site research in She ethnic minority villages and other places to learn about the protection and inheritance of local costume culture through relevant local personnel and the She ethnic minority people.
(1) The overall characteristics of the clothing of the She people in our province.
The author has seen the clothing of the She ethnic group kept by the governments of various She ethnic minority townships. Men's and women's clothing are mainly blue or black, but the traditional ramie or cotton have mostly been replaced by chemical fiber fabrics. Women's tops are large-breasted and small-sleeved shirts with lace on the collar and right breast. The laces are mostly bright red and peach red with yellow patterns, and are embroidered with various flowers, birds and geometric patterns. We also saw the most distinctive "Phoenix costume" of She women. ” and “Phoenix Crown”. Men's clothing of the She ethnic group is basically the same as that of the Han ethnic group. Men's clothing is usually cyan and blue with a large collar and short jacket.
(2) Good practices in protection and inheritance.
Our province pays attention to the economic and cultural development of ethnic areas, and develops She ethnic minority rural characteristic industry projects based on ethnic rural infrastructure construction projects to promote the development of various cultural and economic industries.
① Set up She cultural squares, costume museums and other cultural exhibition venues to display the development history, customs and beliefs, costumes, songs and dances, and special products of the She people. Such as Zhangping She Township, Guixi County, Yingtan City.
② Highlight the resource characteristics of the She people and build a new type of rural tourist attraction that is ecologically friendly, environmentally friendly, and sustainable. For example, Longgang She Nationality Township in Ji'an develops tourism with "red history, blue folk customs, and green ecology". In the She Nationality Township of Zhangping, Guixi City, you can enjoy the "Dog King Picture" and "Lantern Dance" that embody the wonderful art of the She people, and you can also hear a variety of folk songs of the She people.
③ Excavate and display the cultural heritage of the She ethnic group by holding the She ethnic group cultural and art festival. From April 26 to 28, 2011, the first She Culture and Art Festival of Jiangxi Province was held in Guixi. It is expected that the second She Culture and Art Festival of Jiangxi Province will be held in Ji'an, Jiangxi from April 21 to 22, 2015.
These practices of promoting the ethnic customs of the She people have played a certain role in protecting the clothing culture of the She people in our province.
3. Still existing problems and reasons
(1) Due to historical migration, the She people intermingled with the Han people and did not form large settlement areas. However, during the long-term interactions with the Han people, the She people In the process, the clothing of the She people faced being assimilated and annihilated. The author could not see She people wearing She ethnic costumes in She ethnic minority townships.
(2) Changes in lifestyle and living environment, and the accelerated pace of life, have made traditional ethnic costumes that are solid, wear-resistant, and warm-keeping not accepted by the new generation of She people, and have no impact on their economic life. In practical terms, it is replaced by simple, bright and contemporary clothing.
(3) The author also learned that today’s She people no longer have their own ethnic costumes in their homes. In major She activities, the She costumes worn by participants are also uniformly arranged by the township government.
(4) Today’s young generation cannot touch the national symbols and representations of the She people, cannot understand the spiritual connotation of the She people, and has no sense of responsibility and initiative to inherit the costumes of the She people. Nowadays, traditional handicrafts such as vegetable dyeing and hand embroidery have been lost in the clothing of the She people in Jiangxi Province. They have become the product of modern industrialization, and the simplicity has disappeared.
