Bai Mansion was originally a suburban villa of Bai Ju, a Sichuan warlord who claimed to be a descendant of Bai Juyi. He borrowed Bai Juyi's nickname "Xiangshan Jushi" and named the villa "Xiangshan Villa", which was once used as a prison for persecuting revolutionaries.
