Russian special forces died to save a Chinese reporter. The reporter married the widow of the special forces. What is the current situation?
War reporter is one of the most dangerous professions in the world. They rushed into the smoke of gunfire, spoke out with their conscience and facts, used their images to reveal the tragedy of war to the people of the world, and witnessed the difficulty of peace.
In our country, there is a war reporter who has been with death many times. Once in danger, he was saved by a Russian special forces soldier with his life. Later, he actually married the widow of a special soldier. This made many people who heard it unexpected and deeply puzzled.
Abandoning military service to pursue literature, from soldier to journalist
This war correspondent is Lu Yuguang, the chief reporter of Phoenix TV’s Russian station. He is well-known for his in-depth reporting from dangerous battlefields. Some military fans should have seen him talk about the Russian hostage incident, the Syrian battlefield and other exciting content on the show.
Lu Yuguang, born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, is a retired naval officer and holds a PhD in news criticism from Moscow State University. He loved writing, and during his hard and boring military leisure time, he was good at recording observations and discoveries with pen, and exploring the bright spots in ordinary life. He once wrote a short novel based on the love story of an old company commander, which became his success story. The famous work "The Webmaster's Wife".
Because of his continuous writing, his works were published many times in the "Navy" supplement of the "People's Navy" newspaper. His writing talent was recognized, he was selected as a cadre, and transferred to the leading organization to become a news officer. At that time, the Shanghai Navy News opened a new column "Telephone Report" to report warning news, and he became an active author of the column. The news work in the military camp ignited his dream of being a reporter.
In 1987, Lu Yuguang was discharged from the army and changed jobs, and tried out at Zhejiang People's Broadcasting Station. Once, when Zhejiang was hit by heavy rains for several days, Lu Yuguang launched and planned a special operation. He and two editors called the flood control office overnight to understand the situation. As a result, they encountered the dilemma of only two people answering the call.
The next day, the Provincial Radio and Television Station immediately issued a message, "The frontline workers on flood control are doing nothing, and the flood control situation in Zhejiang is worrying." This later won the first prize for National Good News.
Go to Russia and start the life of a war reporter
In 1994, Lu Yuguang was unwilling to be lonely, left his stable hometown, packed up his bags, and went to Russia. He co-founded the "Chinese Newspaper" in Moscow. As the editor-in-chief, he often appeared in newspapers and periodicals as a reporter and commentator, using mature and sophisticated writing to report on key issues and provide services and information to the local Chinese.
Although the newspaper's business was bleak, it allowed him to practice eighteen martial arts, not only photography and writing, but also graphic design and so on. Later, he also worked at Russian Oriental Television. During these hard and tempering years, Lu Yuguang was waiting for the opportunity.
As we all know, in the early 1990s, the Soviet Union and East experienced drastic changes and the bipolar pattern collapsed. The former Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 and split into 15 countries.
As Russia stagnated economically, Chechnya within the territory took the opportunity to stand on its own, and the Chechen War that shocked the world broke out. After a brief three-year truce in the first Chechen war, the second Chechen war broke out in 1999.
This war that attracted worldwide attention attracted reporters from various countries to Russia for reporting. Lu Yuguang was also eager to try and applied to his superiors many times. Finally, Lu Yuguang followed the Russian army deep into the battlefield and began thrilling work on the front line.
Survived the catastrophe, but the benefactor left him alone at the end of his life
The battlefield situation is complicated and dangerous. Although the two parties will not deliberately attack reporters at war, guns and artillery have no eyes, so accidental injuries are inevitable. A living person may be blown to pieces in an instant.
Therefore, in order to protect Lu Yuguang from accidental harm, Russia sent special forces to protect him. With the dedicated help of the special forces, Lu Yuguang had no safety problems and successfully mastered the first-hand news on the cutting edge. Amid the heavy artillery fire, two people of different nationalities also developed a battlefield friendship.
Unexpectedly, when the Chechen war was coming to an end, an accident happened. On the way to Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, Lu Yuguang's car accidentally detonated a landmine.
At the critical moment, the Russian special forces pounced on him without hesitation. With one blast, the special forces soldier who was serving as a shield was blown to death and his life was hanging by a thread. Lu Yuguang only suffered some flesh injuries and survived. Before he died, the special soldier asked Lu Yuguang in a weak voice to help take care of his wife and children.
After the war, Lu Yuguang tried his best and made many inquiries, and finally found the wife and children of his savior. It turned out that the special soldier had just gotten married and his son was only one year old.
While taking care of his benefactor's widow, Lu Yuguang gradually came up with the idea of ??marrying her to take better care of them. With the consent of the other party, they got married. After marriage, the two gave birth to a daughter. Lu Yuguang also regarded his benefactor's orphan as his own.
The opportunity to become famous in one battle is for those who are prepared
In October 2002, the Beslan hostage incident occurred in Moscow. With his past experience in battlefield news, Lu Yuguang was spotted by Phoenix TV, which is known for grabbing news, and was immediately appointed as a special correspondent in Russia, fully responsible for front-line reporting. Lu Yuguang went to live broadcast without telling his wife and children.
Lu Yuguang is very comfortable with live broadcasts and can often make a meal without rice. The content of the live broadcasts is often spoken and never remains silent.
Due to his strong on-site adaptability and many years of experience as a war correspondent, this live broadcast of cutting-edge headlines was very exciting. Therefore, on the first day, his title was still the special correspondent in Russia, but on the second day, he was already the Phoenix TV reporter in Moscow.
On the third day, he was "promoted three times in a row" and became Phoenix TV's chief reporter in Moscow. During these three days, he had a brush with death every day, bullets flew past his ears, and people fell beside him.
He often reports while running, shouting what is known as the "classic language of global media": Terrorists rushed over and shot at us...
Lu Yuguangyi Fight to become famous. Since then, he has entered the war front lines for interviews many times. Lu Yuguang has been involved in the Iraq War, the Russia-Georgia War, the Ukraine-Eastern War, the unrest in Crimea, the Syrian War, and many Sino-Russian joint maritime military exercises.
Later and now
However, his wife was dissatisfied with Lu Yuguang's dangerous job: her ex-husband died on the battlefield, but the current man likes to rush into the hail of bullets to grab news. The two also found themselves at odds with each other. Many times of communication were fruitless, and the wife liked to drink too much. The conflict became increasingly serious and irreconcilable. After negotiation, this transnational marriage ended.
Lu Yuguang always kept in mind his benefactor’s deathbed entrustment. After the divorce, Lu Yuguang never remarried, maintaining a friendship with his ex-wife and continuing to take care of her financially.
He also loves his son and always calls him "my son" when talking to others. Later, my son studied at Heilongjiang University and spoke fluent Chinese. And her daughter was also admitted to Yunnan University. The two children were influenced by their father and both hoped to become heroes like their father and become war reporters.
Although many people don’t quite understand why Lu Yuguang married his benefactor’s widow when it comes to personal matters, this does not prevent them from admiring his achievements as a journalist. He is an excellent soldier, a successful journalist, a husband who keeps his promise, and a father who is respected by his children.
