What is it like traveling with someone you don’t know?
It is really a bad experience to travel with someone you don’t know. The two people have many different habits and hobbies in all aspects, and they have not gotten along well, and they often even disagree. If you disagree, you feel full of contradictions and frictions.
I just graduated from high school at the age of 18. After working part-time to earn money for a few months, I decided to travel to Japan. I left late and all my close friends had already gone, so I went with someone I didn’t know. As a result, the entire trip was full of embarrassment, and everyone had absolutely nothing to talk about. I tried very hard to find him, but after trying hard, I found that there was zero connection between the two of us.
I love watching movies and he loves watching anime. I love Chinese songs, he loves Japanese songs. I love playing computer games like csgo, lol, and chicken games, but he only plays switch. I feel that if you don’t like something after trying it, you shouldn’t force yourself to continue even if you spend money on it, such as hot spring bathing. But he is not.
I eat quickly and finish it in about twenty minutes. He eats very slowly and takes an hour to eat. (After I finished eating, I watched him eat and had nothing to talk about.) In addition, he is a taciturn person. I tried very hard to pick up the conversation and chat with him, but he often couldn't express his thoughts and only replied "um" , ah, oh. As time went by, I didn't bother trying to chat with him anymore.
In the middle of the trip, we had absolutely no communication. It was almost like traveling alone. There were zero topics of conversation in the car and zero topics of conversation during meals. It was even more embarrassing when we arrived at the hotel. I hid in the toilet and didn't want to go out.
Others’ travels are filled with laughter and lively chatting. He and I are as silent as a tomb, and we respect each other as if we were guests. Alas, I have learned a lesson, and I am very grateful to him for letting me know that the joy of traveling does not lie in the beauty of the scenic spots or the taste of the food, but in the people who accompany me.
