You can read anywhere, and you can stop quickly if you want. It takes a few hours at most to read a book. Compared with this, of course, reading is a better choice, and most ordinary people don't have that much time to travel. And if you spend a long time traveling, you may not get as much as reading.

Secondly, traveling is really expensive. In my own experience, a three-day trip to the surrounding cities costs almost 1000 yuan, not to mention the kind of cross-provincial and transnational travel. Where does an ordinary person get more money to travel? But reading is cheaper than traveling, and a book costs tens of dollars. The money spent on a trip can buy dozens of books. Moreover, reading can enrich oneself, broaden one's horizons, and even improve one's thoughts, which tourism can't do. So no matter how you look at it, I think reading is an activity that costs less and gains more than traveling.
