Is it safe to travel in Macao Special Administrative Region?

At present, many countries still maintain entry restrictions, allowing some people to enter the country, but generally excluding those who enter the country for tourism purposes. Different from studying abroad, working and traveling, tourism is still regarded as "unnecessary travel" and is still restricted by most countries. China also advocates that foreign defense is "non-essential, non-travel".

Some people who like outbound travel have been paying attention to this news, and we have received many inquiries backstage, but it seems that outbound travel is not realistic at present. Here, we suggest that if you are still eager to travel, you personally think that traveling to the Macao SAR will be a very good alternative to "outbound travel". The reason for this is the following:

0 1. Entry into Macao is exempt from quarantine.

At present, people from low-risk areas in the Mainland are exempt from quarantine when entering Macao: as long as they have been in the Mainland for the past 14 days and have not been to foreign countries and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for the past 2 1 day, there is no need for quarantine when entering Macao. As long as there is a negative nucleic acid test certificate within 7 days, you can scan the code and fill in a Macao code health code.

At present, most areas in the mainland are low-risk, and only areas with recent epidemics will be "treated differently" by the Macao SAR, such as Ruili City, Yunnan Province. The same was true of the previous epidemic in Guangdong Province. After the clearance, the Macao SAR immediately resumed the entry measures for Guangdong and Macao. Therefore, it is believed that if Ruili City is cleared, it will be listed as a low-risk area by the Macao SAR again.

02

Macao is back, not isolated.

We know that you need to be quarantined at 14+7 or 14+ 14 to enter China when you come back from abroad, but you don't need to be quarantined when you return to the mainland from Macau. Therefore, you don't need to be isolated when you travel to Macao, go out and come back. This is the real tour. If you travel in isolation, the experience will be too bad.

In some countries, although China citizens can travel now, there should be no real tourists. For example:

Greece: Although it attracts tourists from China, the Schengen visa issued by the Greek Consulate in Shanghai can only be used to travel in Greece.

Singapore: Although China citizens can go there at present, the procedures are somewhat complicated, and it takes time to understand and prepare. For details, please refer to the previous article: A detailed introduction of various procedures for China citizens to enter Singapore.

Thailand: Phuket and Koh Samui have been advertised as open tourism, but there are no direct flights between China and Phuket. Even if there is, if you go, you have to get vaccinated, do nucleic acid tests, apply for visas and entry permits, stay in a scheduled hotel and buy insurance. Without an intermediary to help you operate, ordinary people are afraid that they can't handle it themselves.

The most important thing is that after you come back from your trip, according to the epidemic prevention rules of China, you need to go to the testing institution designated by China's foreign embassy for "pun testing", and then apply for the green health code at China's foreign consulate. You can't board the plane until you get the green health code. Quarantine at 14+7 or 14+ 14 after returning home.

If you just travel abroad, then this kind of travel experience is too bad.

03.

Macau tourism is very safe.

Macao Emergency Response Coordination Center said that as of July 5, COVID-19 virus had never spread in Macao, and no local cases (including asymptomatic people) had been reported for 463 consecutive days. The Macao SAR also announced on July 19 that last Friday and Saturday (July 16 and July 17), more than 33,000 people entered Macao respectively, and the trend of inbound tourists was obvious. From July 1 to June 15, the average hotel occupancy rate reached 52. 1%, which was 8.4% higher than that in June.

What about other countries? Take Thailand as an example. According to the headline news agency of Thailand:

At present, there are more than 1 10,000 new cases in Thailand every day, and 13 is blocked by the government. However, the Tourism Authority of Thailand is still determined to attract 3 million foreign tourists to Thailand this year, with 9-1100 million domestic tourists and 850 billion baht in tourism revenue. In addition, during the period from July 1 day to July 18, Phuket * * received 8,377 tourists from the sandbox program in Phuket, and found 16 infected patients.

In this case, even if I can go to Phuket, I dare not go. Another example is Greece, because after July 1, holders of EU vaccine certificates can move freely within the EU, but can Greek tourism be said to be 100% safe? After all, westerners are sometimes "too free".

Macao endorsement is convenient to handle

Mainlanders going to Macao need to apply for the "Hong Kong and Macao Pass" (referred to as "Hong Kong and Macao Pass") and endorsement (divided into free travel endorsement and group endorsement). At the beginning of the epidemic, Hong Kong and Macao passes and endorsements were suspended for some time, but they were quickly resumed.

If you already have a "Hong Kong and Macao Pass" (all of them are card-type at present, just like an ID card): As long as the pass is still valid, you can take the "Pass" to the local entry-exit office and operate it yourself on the self-service machine. The machine will erase the expired old endorsement and replace it with a new one, which is very convenient.

If you don't have the Hong Kong and Macao Pass and the Endorsement or it has expired, you can make an appointment to go to the Exit-Entry Administration Office, which is also very convenient now.

05

Convenient transportation

Compared with going abroad and coming back from abroad, at present, aviation still maintains restrictions, with fewer flights, expensive air tickets and more passengers on the same plane. You don't know which is safe, and the risk of infection is high. Tickets to Macao are cheap and trains are convenient, so it is not a big problem to take children to travel.

06

Convenient entry and exit customs clearance

At present, mainlanders go to Macao either by plane or through land ports. If you fly, it would be nice to have a round-trip ticket. Now you can fly directly to Macao, whether it is a free endorsement or a group endorsement. Customs clearance through the land port, Zhuhai Hengqin Port is also a fast customs clearance, self-service customs clearance for 5 minutes is enough, so I won't elaborate here.

Macau is worth a visit.

The scenery and status of Macao are worth visiting. Hongkong and Macau, as the only two special administrative regions in China, should be places that everyone in China should visit all his life. As the saying goes, it is not a hero to go to the Great Wall, and it will be a little regrettable to go to Hong Kong and Macao. Scenery or travel guides are easy to find online.
