You can take this route when traveling by car to Yunnan in August.

Starting from Kunming via Chuxiong, Dali, and Lijiang Shangri-La, the total journey is about 750 kilometers and takes about ten days.

The first stop is from Kunming to Chuxiong. There is Yuanmou Tulin Scenic Area, and I have watched the movies "The Promise" and "Ride Alone for Thousands of Miles".

Wuding Lion Mountain is an AAAA national scenic spot and enjoys the reputation of "the best in the world" as the No. 1 mountain in Southwest China.

The Yi ancient town is a characteristic town integrating culture, residence and commerce.

The second stop is Dali Ancient City. After visiting the ancient city, you can drive to Erhai Lake to enjoy the sea breeze.

Dali Three Pagoda Temple is one of the most beautiful buildings among the existing ancient pagodas in China.

The third stop, Lijiang, the main attraction is Lijiang Old Town, known as the capital of affairs and a world cultural heritage.

Lijiang Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, a scenic spot with an altitude of 5596 meters, is the mountain closest to the equator in the northern hemisphere that is covered with snow all year round. Not only is it majestic, but it also changes with the seasons. At first glance, the snow-capped mountains are looming, shrouded in clouds and mist, and are spectacular. If it is your first time to go to Yunnan, it is recommended to take the Dali-Lijiang Lugu Lake/Shangri-La Line. If this is not your first time, it is recommended to take the Dali-Tengchong-Ruili line. Take the first line below as an example (Lugu Lake). From Dali to Lugu Lake, you can fly back from Lugu Lake, but if you want to drive all the way, it is recommended to fly to Lijiang and leave.

The Dali-Lijiang-Lugu Lake line is a very classic and mature line in Yunnan. If you have extra time, you can go to Kunming (Dianchi Lake, Huashi, Stone Forest). If time is tight, try not to be shorter than 8 days, otherwise some places will be very urgent. Because there are many routes in Yunnan, and it is difficult to visit the same city a second time in a short period of time. So, harvest 90% of the scenery first.

Dali Lugu Lake 8 days and 7 nights self-driving route is as follows:

Travel Tips:

(0) Yunnan has sufficient sunshine throughout the year, so pay attention to sun protection; Dali is 2100, Lijiang is 2400, and Lugu Lake is 2700. Be careful about altitude sickness. Basically, Yunnan has a big temperature difference between morning and evening, so be careful not to catch a cold;

(1) Don’t be anxious if you win the prize in the above itinerary. Some days it seems that the itinerary is full, but they are all very close to each other, or the scenic spots are not a waste of time;

(2) If you have one more day, you can go to the West Lake in "Going to Dali", that is the little people A good place; if you have 2 days left, you can go to Shaxi to hike the Ancient Tea Horse Trail again; if you have three more days, you can consider the Tea Horse Trail in Lashihai, or go to Falcon Valley to play live-fire shooting or hang glider.

(4) Shaxi Ancient Town is not very popular at present, but it is very comfortable to stay and even more comfortable to stay at night. It is recommended to save the morning in the evening and go shopping in Lijiang Dayan Ancient Town the next night. Compared with Shuhe, Dayan is just average.

(5) Dayan Ancient Town is not recommended for accommodation in Lijiang. It is noisy at night, dragging boxes is tiring, and walking is difficult. The scenery is still very average and very expensive. Recommend Shuhe and Baisha. If you have money, you can live in Yuhu Village.

(6) For accommodation in Lugu Lake, you can choose to stay in the water for two nights, which is convenient for eating, living and playing. Actually, it’s nice to watch the sunrise from Dashui Pier. However, the Rig Observation Deck is indeed the golden place of Lugu Lake, where the starry sky and sunrise can be seen before you know it.

(7) For accommodation in Dali, it is recommended to spend one day in the ancient city and one day in Shuanglang. Double corridors can have rooms with unparalleled sea views. If your budget allows, try to choose a sea-view room on a double corridor peninsula, especially one next to the ancient town scenic spot. There are no lights around at night. Believe me, you will harvest the stars in the Erhai Lake sky.

Dali specialties: Bai cuisine, Dai cuisine, Xizhou Baba;
