Weiyuanbao 1

The former site of Weiyuan Fort is located on Weiyuan Island (also called Ya Niang Xie Island) on the east bank of the Pearl River Estuary. It is located in the most dangerous places along the Yangtze River, with six forts, including Weiyuan, Zhenyuan, Jingyuan, Nanshanfeng, Shetouwan and Ding Yang. It belongs to the second line of defense of Humen fortress, and it is the dangerous pass of Guangzhou sea. These fortresses formed a three-dimensional coastal defense system at that time, which played a vital role in the Opium War and subsequent wars of foreign aggression, and were known as the "Great Wall of the South China Sea".

2. Shajiao Castle

The former site of Shajiao Fort is located in Shajiao Community, Humen Town, on the east bank of the Pearl River Estuary, and its position is very important. Built at 1800, opposite to Dajiao Fort, it formed the first line of defense at Humen Sea at that time, also known as the first gateway to Guangdong Sea. During the Opium War in Humen, Lin Zexu and Deng Yanzhen went to Shajiao Fort to transfer troops to collect opium. During the Opium War, Captain Chen Liansheng and Taiwan-guarding soldiers wrote a touching heroic historical song at the fort. Shajiao Fort is a well-preserved coastal defense fortress in Qing Dynasty in China, and it is also a place to pay homage to the fort and the heroic spirit. At present, the sites open to the outside world are: Haibin Taiwan, Lingaotai, Diaoyutai, the tomb of the rescuer, Linxu Monument, meritorious artillery, Krupp artillery, Fuyan wharf and so on.

3. Humen Naval Battle Museum

Naval Battle Museum, located in the community south of Humen Town, is located near the former site of Weiyuanbao on the east coast of Haikou. The name of the museum was inscribed by the former chairman. Weiyuan Fort and Naval Battle Museum can see the magnificent scenery of Humen Bridge.

4. Humen Bridge: Humen Bridge starts from Humen Weiyuan in the east, connects Nansha in the west and spans the Pearl River Estuary. The main span of the bridge is 888 meters, and the deck has six lanes in both directions. It is the first large suspension bridge in China. The four characters "Humen Bridge" were inscribed by the then President. The bridge was put into trial operation in May 1997, and it is the "ancient flying rainbow" among the new eight scenic spots in Dongguan. The vicissitudes of the ancient fort recorded the humiliation of the Opium War, and the majestic Humen Bridge witnessed the pace of reform and opening up in new China.

5. Humen Shidong Forest Park

Humen Shidong Forest Park is located in Dalingshan Forest Farm, Humen. There are many reservoirs in the park, including Huaide Reservoir in the middle, Daxi Reservoir and Dali Reservoir in the east. At the top of the mountain, you can see the Pearl River Estuary in the distance, Lotus Mountain in the south, Humen Central City and its nearby pastoral scenery. There are many waterfalls in the park, and the cultural landscape in the park is also very rich.
