Characteristics of red tourism resources

1. Theme

Red tourism resources are thematic. All red tourism resources are formed based on the revolutionary struggle of the Chinese people led by the Communist Party of China to rise up, resist aggression and strive for national independence, and are formed around the main line of the history of China's revolutionary struggle.

2005 is the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, and 2006 is the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army’s Long March. Taking this as an opportunity, my country has launched an upsurge in developing “red tourism”. The Party Central Committee and the State Council have made strategic decisions to vigorously develop red tourism from a strategic perspective of long-term development. The General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council have specially issued the “Red Tourism Development Outline”. From financial subsidies from the central government to policy loans from the National Development Bank, red tourism has been greatly supported. The country is determined to implement the development of red tourism and achieve both social and economic benefits.

Although red tourism resources are thematic and have obvious political overtones, as an industry, the development of red tourism resources cannot rely too much on the guidance of special policies, otherwise it will be difficult to achieve sustainable development.

2. Extensive and regional distribution

The "Red Tourism Development Outline" emphasizes that the country will strive to cultivate 12 key red tourism areas and focus on creating 100 unique "red tourism classic scenic spots". These more than 100 classic red tourism scenic spots (spots) are summarized according to the National Bureau of Statistics' division standards for the eastern, central and western zones, as shown in the table.

Table distribution summary table of national key red tourist attractions (spots) Unit: Number of key red tourist attractions (spots) Subtotal Eastern region Beijing 7 Tianjin 3 Hebei 8 Liaoning 6 Shanghai 1 Jiangsu 5 Zhejiang 5 Fujian 5 Shandong 6 Guangdong 3 Hainan 1 Guangxi 2 55 Central region Shanxi 6 Jilin 3 Heilongjiang 3 Anhui 5 Jiangxi 5 Henan 1 Inner Mongolia 2 Hubei 4 Hunan 8 40 Western region Chongqing 1 Sichuan 5 Guizhou 3 Yunnan 2 Tibet 1 Shaanxi 5 Gansu 4 Qinghai 1 Ningxia 3 Xinjiang 3 28 As can be seen from the table, my country's red tourism resources are widely distributed and are abundant in the east, central and west.

The distribution of red tourism resources in my country has both extensive and regional characteristics. The revolutionary struggle activities led by the Communist Party of China have their centers of focus in different regions at different stages of historical development. Therefore, its historical relics also show relatively obvious regional characteristics. In the early days of the establishment of the Communist Party of China, the main activities were concentrated in a few large cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Changsha, and Wuhan. The founding conference was held in Shanghai, so more commemorative sites have been preserved in these cities. After the failure of the Great Revolution in 1927, the Communist Party of China chose a revolutionary path of encircling the cities from the countryside and seizing power with armed force. Therefore, the distribution of its revolutionary activity relics basically followed the development of the revolutionary process, from the initial most concentrated in central China. The remote and backward mountainous and rural areas in the west gradually moved to the east and big cities, until they finally achieved nationwide victory. During the Anti-Japanese War, the Japanese army mainly occupied my country's Northeast, North, East and South China, while the anti-Japanese forces of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party were based in the southwest and northwest regions. The two sides fought an arduous struggle for eight years. . Therefore, many relics related to the Anti-Japanese War have been left in the corresponding areas mentioned above. During the War of Liberation, the People's Liberation Army, underground party organizations, and guerrillas led by the Communist Party of China launched large-scale contests with the Kuomintang in Northeast, North, East, and Central China, and then took advantage of the victory to advance and liberate the Southwest, Northwest, and In South China, a large number of revolutionary sites and memorial sites of this period have been left in various places.

In addition, the birthplaces of some leaders and other historical celebrities who emerged in our country’s modern revolutionary struggle also show regional characteristics. The birthplaces of a number of celebrities or outstanding figures in my country's modern history are mainly concentrated in Hunan, Sichuan, and the southeastern coastal areas of Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The distribution of commemorative resources for historical celebrities in red tourism resources also shows regional characteristics.

3. There are many remote and backward areas

For a long time, China's Red Revolution followed the path of "rural areas surrounding cities". During the Long March, the Red Army chose this path in order to escape the pursuit and interception of the Kuomintang troops and local gentry armed forces. Traveling to remote mountainous areas and minority areas largely determines the distribution of red tourism resources in our country. Rural areas, remote mountainous areas, and minority areas occupy a large share. Because these areas are far away from central cities, have inconvenient transportation, and are relatively backward in economic development, it has increased the difficulty of developing red tourism resources to a certain extent.
