The construction history of Guxian Reservoir tourist attraction

The reservoir building is composed of a barrage, a power plant building and a drainage hole in the attached dam. The barrage is a concrete solid gravity dam with a maximum height of 125 meters, a total storage capacity of 1.175 billion cubic meters, a dam crest elevation of 553 meters (Daku elevation system), a dam crest width of 9 meters, and a dam crest length of 315 meters. It consists of a retaining dam section and a power station. It consists of dam section, bottom hole dam section, overflow dam section and middle hole dam section, with a total of 21 dam sections. The dam section is generally 16.5 meters long, with a maximum length of 19 meters and a minimum length of 13 meters.

The construction of the Guxian Reservoir Project started in 1958 and was basically completed in 1992. During this period, it went through a long process of "three down and four up". Construction started for the first time in October 1958 and was suspended in 1960. Work resumed for the first time in the spring of 1970, but construction was suspended at the end of that year. Construction resumed for the second time in 1973, and construction was suspended again at the end of 1975. Work resumed for the third time in early 1978. The engineering design plan and construction team have undergone several changes. The "Five Certainties" (i.e., fixed regulations, fixed benefits, fixed construction period, fixed collaboration, and fixed investment) stipulated that the project should be completed in 1989. Due to the failure to arrange investment according to the "Five Certainties" annual plan, it was basically completed in 1992.
