Introduction to Jilong Mountain

In 2004, Jilongshan Fenglin Temple was awarded the first batch of municipal key temples by the Chaohu Municipal Government. Master Dingchang devoted himself to the excavation of the history and culture of Jilongshan and built the architecture of Jilongshan Scenic Area with Buddhist culture as the core, which promoted the development of tourism and Buddhist cultural undertakings in Hexian County. Jilong Mountain is covered with towering ancient trees, covering an area of ??4,500 hectares and a standing tree accumulation of 155,000 cubic meters. Wandering along the mountain trails, you can't see the sky, as if you are in the blue sea. Jilong Mountain has been approved as a national first-level forest park.

The Taoist Du Guangting's "Dongtian Blessed Land" calls Jilong Mountain the "42nd Blessed Land". Because of its continuous mountains and huge boulders that look like lotus flowers, it is called "a wonderful place in a state". There are scenic spots such as "Sanqing Hall", "Nantian Gate", "One Line of Sky", "Lolva Cave" and "Bai Sui Que" on the mountain. According to legend, at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, three brothers, Jin Fo, Jin Qian and Jin Kun, attained enlightenment and became Buddhas here. Later generations named the palace "Sanqing Palace" for it. He is regarded as the Patriarch of Sanmao, and his statue is placed in the hall. There are eighteen Arhats on both sides of the hall. There is a big bell hanging inside, weighing a thousand catties; there is a big drum with a diameter of nearly 2 meters. Every New Year's day, people from all over the country go to the mountain to worship Buddha, and there is an endless stream, so it is known as "Jiangbei Little Jiuhua". In the past dynasties, Li Bai, Xu Hun, Li Sicong, Yang Wanli, He Zhu, Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhuang Chang, Wang Yuanhan, Dai Zhong, Tang Maogang, etc. all left inscriptions and chants. Among them: Li Bai's poem "Qi Ge of the Liyang Warriors and Qinjiang Generals, Famous in the World" says: "In ancient times, Liyang County turned into a flood. The mountains and rivers are melancholy, and the dragons and tigers are secretly glorious. They have been stored for thousands of years, and what are the winds and clouds? The special birth is diligence. A general is twice as powerful as a hundred men. "A poem written by Xu Hun of the Tang Dynasty in "Inscribed on Qin Zunshi's Residence in Liyang Mountain" says: "Twenty soldiers are in the Yulin, and the middle-aged soldiers are subconsciously in the heart of the ovary. The Chu water is deep. In the spring, the wine bottle floats with the pine shade. There are many places on Jilong Mountain, and the Huangjing of the Jinlong Mountain cannot be found. "Zhu Yuanzhang's poem "Climbing Jilong Mountain" said: "Stop hunting and sit on the west mountain with the flag. , One mountain rises from the ground and thousands of mountains are low. Cui Wei's huge stone is like a pillar of heaven, supporting the old man to know himself every day."

In the early Tang Dynasty, there were many temples on the mountain. After the war, many of the original buildings were destroyed. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, 37 temples remained, housing more than a hundred large and small Buddha statues and dozens of monks. During the "Cultural Revolution", temples and Buddhist statues were destroyed. After 1978, the county people's government allocated funds for reconstruction. The road from the foothills to the top of the mountain was repaved with stone strips and added with steel pipe railings. Fenglin Zen Temple has also been renovated and houses seven Buddha statues. There is an inscription of the "Inscription of Fenglin Temple" in the 13th year of the Republic of China (1924). It receives many pilgrims and tourists every year. Jilong Mountain has been approved as a national first-level forest park.
