The Stone Forest Scenic Area is 120 kilometers away from Kunming and covers an area of ??more than 400,000 acres. Stone forest is a typical karst landform, formed after hundreds of millions of years of geological changes. Stone Forest is also the hometown of Ashima in the legend of the Yi people. The "Torch Festival" on the 24th of the sixth lunar month every year is the best time to visit the Stone Forest. In 1931, Yunnan Provincial Chairman Long Yun passed by this place and named it "Stone Forest". Zhou Zhongyue's running script inscriptions were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. After the reform and opening up, the local tourism department collected the characters from the "Cuan Baozi Monument" stored in Qujing No. 1 Middle School to create the current plaque.

The signature "Long Yun Ti" was inscribed by Long Yun's son Long Shengwen in September 1985, and was restored by Shilin County [3]. In 1962, Zhu De visited Stone Forest and impromptuly inscribed "Peaks stand on the wall, thousands of peaks are green". Since there were only eight pieces of paper, there was no place to write the inscription. The three words "Zhu De's inscription" now printed were copied and engraved from other inscriptions.
