600-word Travel Notes of the Forbidden City
Today is a good day to travel to the Forbidden City, because today you can see the blue sky, and the sky in Beijing is gray every day, which is a good day. I ate a bowl of fried liver, a special snack in Beijing, for breakfast and started a new journey.
Today's protagonist is the Forbidden City, not the Forbidden City. In other words, we are going to visit the palace. Before entering the Forbidden City, you must cross Tiananmen Square, so you must board Tiananmen Gate. When you board the gate, you will have a bird's eye view of Tiananmen Square. This angle is exactly where Chairman Mao stood when he spoke at the founding ceremony. I stood there specially to feel the grand occasion at that time.
When I got off at Tiananmen Square, I went through the end gate and came to the main entrance of the Forbidden City-the meridian gate. The meridian gate is very particular. It is a square, surrounded by three walls, with three holes in front and one hole on each side. Among them, only the emperor can walk in the middle of the door on weekdays, and the queen can also walk once on the wedding day, and then there are three people who won the first prize, the second place and the flower exploration in the palace examination. The left and right doors are the doors through which civil and military ministers and princes enter and leave. Other officials can only take two side doors. From the front, there are three doors at the meridian gate, and from the back, there are five doors, so it is called "Sanming and Five Darkness".
I rented an electronic guide machine at the entrance of the noon gate, which can help you visit the Forbidden City and chat while walking. When I entered the meridian gate, I really entered the Forbidden City. First, you have to cross the Neijinshui River. In front of it is an open square with a palace-style gate in the middle. All the doors of the Forbidden City are actually palace-style buildings. This door is called Taihe Gate, and there are a pair of bronze lions sitting on both sides of the door. The pair of lions are called the first lions in China, and they are majestic.
Through the Taihe Gate, I saw a bigger square. In front of it is a larger palace, which is also the highest palace in the Forbidden City-the Hall of Supreme Harmony, commonly known as the "Golden Hall", where the emperor ascended to the DPRK. The Hall of Supreme Harmony is really magnificent. There are nine forbidden cities at most, and there are ten wild animals on the eaves of the Hall of Supreme Harmony. This shows that the status of the Hall of Supreme Harmony can no longer be represented by the number nine. Built on three white marble steps, the Hall of Supreme Harmony was the tallest building in Beijing at that time. 1 142 faucets are carved on the marble stone steps at the bottom of the temple. The mouth of the faucet is connected to the ground. Whenever it rains, the accumulated water will flow to the ground through these faucets 1 142, so there is the wonder of "a thousand dragons spit water".
Behind the Hall of Supreme Harmony are the Hall of Supreme Harmony and the Hall of Baohe, which constitute the front hall of the Forbidden City. After that, it is the harem. It is worth mentioning that in the Qing Dynasty, every sign of the Forbidden City was in Chinese and Manchu, but now all signs from Wumen to Baohe Hall are only in Chinese. Why? Because Yuan Shikai was emperor for 83 days at that time, he ordered the Manchu in the front palace to be removed, which is also the ironclad evidence that Yuan Shikai stole the country.
Walk along the central axis of Baohe Hall, pass Gan Qing Gate and come to Gan Qing Palace. This palace is the bedroom of the emperors Shunzhi and Kangxi. When he arrived in Yong Zhengdi, Yong Zhengdi was in mourning for Emperor Kangxi for 27 months and moved his residence to hall of mental cultivation. Since then, the emperor has officially lived in hall of mental cultivation. Passing through the Jiaotai Hall, you come to the Palace of Kunning, which is the bedroom of the Empress of the Ming Dynasty and the wedding room of the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Now, the decoration of Kunning Palace has been restored to the appearance when Emperor Guangxu got married.
There is also a Nine Dragon Wall in the Forbidden City. This nine-dragon wall is built in imitation of the North Sea Nine-dragon Wall, so it is not as beautiful as the North Sea Nine-dragon Wall. However, a touching story happened: when the Nine Dragon Wall was built in the Forbidden City, 270 glazed tiles needed to be fired, and each glazed tile was different. Together, it is a complete nine dragon wall. If one is missing, it will be all invalid. The worker accidentally broke a brick while burning it, which is a crime of decapitation. At this time, the carpenter master stepped forward, risked his life, carved an imitation out of wood, painted it in color, and escaped the inspection of officials, so the craftsmen survived. Through this incident, it reflected the corruption of the imperial court at that time, and also showed the spirit of unity and friendship of the working people. But this wood product, after all, can't stand the baptism of years, and now it has rotted.
The palace my wife wants to see most is Fang Shu Zhai, where the swallow lived in Huanzhugege, but Fang Shuzhai is not open to the public and is under renovation.
In front of Palace of Gathered Elegance, we saw the bed where the convent was sleeping. Among these female practitioners, there was the later Empress Dowager Cixi.
In the Treasure Hall, we saw many treasures of the Forbidden City, including the emperor's imperial seal, dragon robe and dragon crown. All kinds of rare treasures are dazzling and countless.
What we are fortunate to see are the photos of Xuantong and Wanrong and the photos of Cixi in her later years. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, there were cameras in the palace, leaving photos of the last emperor of China. Xuantong was black and thin, graceful and worthy of being the queen, very beautiful, and was the first beauty in the world at that time!
There are so many scenic spots in the Forbidden City that we can't swim all day. At 3 pm, we reluctantly left the Forbidden City. I want to see the Forbidden City step by step and see the palaces where more than 20 emperors in China lived.
When I left the Forbidden City, I suddenly became interested in the history of the Qing Dynasty. You must study hard and study the Forbidden City when you have time.
Dinner was eaten at the second sister's house. Her sister cooked it herself and made us spicy crayfish, which we both like best. In fact, when I was at home, my wife and I felt that we must eat spicy crayfish in Beijing. Today is the right time. It seems that we had a good time. When I went back to the hotel to rest, I recalled the Forbidden City and tasted the spicy crayfish. This kind of life is simply wonderful!
