"Jimo" got its name because the city (located in Dazhumao Village, Gu Yan Town, pingdu city) is close to the Ink River. Its name first appeared in historical books such as Warring States Policy, Mandarin and Historical Records. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it was a famous trading place of Qi, and the county was ruled by Qin. In the early Han Dynasty, it became the political, economic and cultural center of Jiaodong, and the Sui Dynasty built the city at its present site, with a history of 1400 years. 1898, Germany forcibly leased JIAOZHOU bay to separate Qingdao from Jimo.
