Where is Java, the country of Journey to the West?

Java Island is located in the south of the Java Sea, with Kalimantan (formerly known as Borneo) to the north, Sumatra to the northwest, Bali to the east, Sulawesi to the northeast, and Christmas to the south. Island (very small area). Java is the 13th largest island in the world. The island of Java was essentially formed by volcanic activity, and at least 38 conical mountains indicate that they are or were active volcanoes. See volcanoes in Java.

The island of Java includes Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and many famous tourist attractions, including the Indonesian cultural center Yogyakarta (or translated as Zhou Jakata), the Buddhist temple site Borobudur and the Hindu Brambanan Temple (Prambanan).

Java is also the most densely populated island in Indonesia, with about 60% of the country's population living on the island. Beginning in the 1970s, in order to relocate residents of Java to other less populated islands, the Indonesian government began to implement a "transmigration program", which resulted in many complex situations, including the creation of many ethnic groups. There were even violent conflicts between some indigenous people and the "new settlers".
