Brief introduction of yehliu scenic spot

Yehliu Scenic Area is located on the Fund Highway about 15km northwest of Keelung City, Taiwan Province Province. It is a headland (Datun Mountain System) protruding from the sea. From a distance, it looks like a turtle staggering offshore, swimming with its head held high and its back hunched, so some people call it yehliu Turtle. Under the influence of orogeny, the sedimentary rocks buried deep in the seabed rose to the sea surface, forming the topography such as single-sided mountains, sea cliffs and sea caves near the coast. Marine erosion and wind erosion act on rocks with different hardness, forming world-class rock landscapes such as honeycomb rock, bean curd rock, mushroom rock, ginger rock and weathering window. Yehliu, located in Liucun, Wan Li, Taibei County, is a headland extending into the sea, about 1700 meters long, so it is called yehliu Point, yehliu Nose or yehliu Peninsula. Because of its switch, it looks like a pair of turtles from a distance, staggering offshore and bowing their heads to swim, so it is also called yehliu Turtle. Affected by orogeny, sedimentary rocks buried deep in the seabed rose to the sea surface, forming landforms such as one-sided mountains, sea cliffs and sea caves near the coast. Marine erosion and wind erosion act on different rock formations, forming world-class rock formations such as honeycomb rock, bean curd rock, mushroom rock, ginger rock and weathering window, forming a strange and magnificent scene, which is one of the twelve famous scenic spots in Taiwan Province Province. The windward side of yehliu headland is a steep cliff, but the leeward side is lush, and coastal plants such as canna, agave and hibiscus are planted. Walking on the path through the forest has a special mood. At low tide, many colorful shells and sea urchin fossils were left on the shore. Strolling, catching the sea and enjoying the strange stones are the three major pleasures of yehliu's headland tourism.
