The legend of Sanmao Palace
According to legend, during the reign of Emperor Jing of Han Dynasty, Mao Ying, Mao Gu and Mao Zhong, three brothers from Nanguan, Xianyang, Shaanxi Province, were talented but ambitious. Eldest brother Mao Ying 18 years old left home to live in Hengshan Mountain, Beiyue, carefully studied Laozi's Tao Te Ching and Zhouyi, collected herbs and made an alchemy, and gained enlightenment for several years. Later, he went to Juqu Mountain (now Jurong Maoshan) in the south of the Yangtze River to cultivate monasteries, collect herbs and treat diseases for the people. The second child and the third child study to be an official. On one occasion, Mao Ying, the eldest brother, went home to visit his parents and was laughed at by his two younger brothers. He said that he was naked and empty-handed, and claimed that an official had inexhaustible delicacies, endless silks and satins, and inexhaustible wealth. However, Mao Ying pointed out two younger brothers: sinister officialdom, intrigue, fame and fortune, and death. Later, as expected, the two younger brothers experienced the hardships of officialdom and realized the taste of life. They decided to go to Qushan together, cultivate sexual desire with their eldest brother, and study medicine to benefit the people. In order to save lives, the three brothers are not afraid of cold and heat, wind, frost, rain and snow. They went up the mountain day and night to collect medicine, refine pills, powder and ointment.
After the death of Mao Shi's three brothers, the people nearby did not forget their virtue, and set up a plaque of "inviting guests" and changed Qushan to Sanmaoshan, referred to as Maoshan, to show their memory. During the Qi and Liang Dynasties in the Southern Dynasties, the famous hermit Tao Hongjing founded the Sanmao School of Taoism in Maoshan. The three brothers who respect the Maoists are the founders of Sanmao Sect and are regarded as Sanmao Zhenjun. From then on, Sanmao Zhenjun was supreme in the eyes of believers.
Because Hengshan Depression is not far from Maoshan Mountain, it is said that Shi Mao's three brothers often come here to collect herbs and leave their relics. 1667, they built a sacrificial palace and named it "Sanmao Palace". During the Qianlong period, when Wang Wenzhi, a Dantu, returned to his hometown, he wrote three characters "Sanmao Palace" for the lintel of Gong Ling Palace. There are inscriptions on white marble, and the lintel is still hanging high, which can be described as the treasure of the town palace.
After more than 300 years of vicissitudes, Sanmao Palace has been destroyed and built repeatedly and has never been abandoned. 1929 rebuilt the Huangyuting in Houlou, and finally restored the complete structure of Sanmao Palace. Climbing up the stairs from the mountain gate, in front of it is the spirit palace, carved with beams and painted with buildings, which is magnificent; Among them are San Mao Zhenjun Hall, cornices and magnificent halls. Then came the Jade Emperor Pavilion, with yellow walls and red columns, built on the mountain. There is a stage in front, a plum garden in the back, a peach garden on the left and a flower pond on the right. The paths on both sides can reach the top of the mountain directly. At first glance, the magnificent river is rolling eastward, Qian Fan is competing for beauty, and the villages in the south are dotted and criss-crossed, which is a good place to cultivate one's morality. During the Cultural Revolution, Sanmao Palace was severely damaged. After 1992, it was gradually rebuilt and opened, and now the main buildings have restored the old pattern. The reconstructed main hall of Sanmao Zhenjun is dedicated to three statues, with Mao Ying in the middle, a happy hug and a kind and solemn expression; Mao Gu and Mao Zhong are on both sides with jade poles in their hands. Bells, drums, pots, plates and other appliances should be complete. On the southeast side of the main hall, a new Saburo Hall was built. Taoism calls Saburo the protector general, who "travels all over the world with a sword in his hand and a yellow robe to show his great power", which can bless local crops and people and animals. 1994 Sanmao Palace is listed as one of the three Taoist holy places in Jiangsu Province.
It is amazing to mention the Sanmaogong scenic spot in Hengshan depression.
Climb the steps, enter the main hall, turn to the back, there is a Gu Quan well, which was once filled with random bricks and then dredged. Up to now, the water quality is still cool and sweet, but the original well site is unknown. According to the Qing Dynasty's "Jade Emperor Pavilion Monument in the Back Building of Sanmao Palace", "An old well and a spring can cure diseases, which is enough; Especially different. During the Guangxu period, a kind of sacred dish was bred on the altar, which was evergreen all the year round and could cure all diseases. Take it and see what the miraculous effect is. " Nearby villagers rushed here to treat diseases and worship incense, and the incense was at its peak, so it was called' Xiaomaoshan'. From the ancient well to the uphill platform, cross the pavilion and look up. On the high platform in front of the Jade Emperor Pavilion, there used to be an old plum tree with lush foliage and a diameter of 40 cm. According to legend, it has a history of more than 200 years. When the Jade Emperor Pavilion was built a few years ago, it was blocked and its roots were cut down, thinking it was going to die. Strange to say, in recent years, many branches have grown around the roots, which are 3 meters high. The branches in full bloom are very cute. Along both sides of the palace wall, there are paths to the top. There are two scenic spots that must be seen. 1. There is a "fairy basin" halfway up the mountain, which is a stone trough naturally formed by rocks, similar to a basin, with a big mouth and a small bottom in a U shape, with four sides 40 cm long and 35 cm deep. It accumulates water all the year round and will not dry up. Second, there is a "fairy bed" on the top of the mountain, which is also a natural rock and looks like a bed. The stone surface is smooth, high in the north and low in the south, and people are comfortable lying on it. Visitors are always amazed when they come here.
In August, 20001,Sanmao Palace was designated as a key Taoist temple in Zhenjiang, and it will soon be developed into a characteristic scenic spot in the suburbs of Zhenjiang integrating tourism, religion and leisure. 200 1, 10 In June, Sanmao Palace in Hengshan 'ao held a Hsi Chin Dafa meeting with the theme of celebrating the successful bid for the Olympic Games and crossing the sea by Comrade Wang Wei, a defender of the sea and air, which lasted for seven days and nights and was unprecedented. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, it has become another place in our province to hold such a large-scale Dojo activity after Maoshan Daoyuan.
Spring tour Hengshan concave, sunny, birds contend, flowers; Climbing mountains in summer, watching the sunrise in the morning and the smog in the evening; In the Mid-Autumn Festival, the mountains and forests are sparse, the red leaves are smiling and the pines are rolling, which is thought-provoking; Looking at the snow scene in the middle of winter, covered with silver makeup, it is particularly enchanting, giving people the feeling that "flowers fly three thousand miles in Buddha land and people are on the eighteenth floor of Feng Qiong".
