The four salt lakes in Qinghai are

The four major salt lakes in Qinghai are Chaka Salt Lake, Chaerhan Salt Lake, Zhang Wan Salt Bridge and Keke Salt Lake.

1, Chaka Salt Lake

Located in the center of Chaka Basin, south of Chaka Town. Chaka is Mongolian, meaning "salt sea". Chaka Salt Lake area 100 square kilometers. Chaka salt crystals are large and pure, and the salt taste is mellow. The salt produced is sold to many provinces and regions in China. Salt has various shapes, such as pearl salt, glass salt, coral salt, crystal salt, snowflake salt, vermicelli salt, mushroom salt and so on.

As long as the salt cover with the thickness of 10 cm is uncovered, the natural crystalline salt can be fished out from below. The mined brine will crystallize into salt in a few years, which is really inexhaustible.

2. Chaerhan Salt Lake

Located in the south-central part of the Qaidam Basin, it is 2670 meters above sea level, 40 kilometers wide from north to south, and 140 kilometers long from east to west, with a total area of more than 5,800 square kilometers, about 60 kilometers away from Golmud City and10 kilometers away from Dachaidan in the north. It is the largest salt mine resource in Qinghai, rich in potassium salt, salt, magnesium, lithium, boron, iodine and other minerals. A large potash fertilizer plant has been built. The surface of the salt lake is covered with a thin layer of sand, and below it is salt.

3. Wanzhangyan Bridge

Zhang Wan Salt Bridge is a 32-kilometer-long road paved with salt on the surface of Chaerhan Salt Lake, which is called Zhang Wan Salt Bridge. Breaking the myth of foreign experts that "roads cannot be built in areas with salt content exceeding 40%". The road surface of salt highway is flat and smooth, just like asphalt road. There are potholes on the road surface, which can be filled with salt water and then condensed. It is afraid of rain because water can dissolve salt, but it doesn't rain here almost all the year round.

4. Keke Salt Lake

Keke Salt Lake, located in Tangke Town, Wulan County, Qinghai Province, is a salt lake formed in Cenozoic Paleogene. Because of the high altitude and pollution-free environmental advantages, the salt there is very popular. Industrial salt and edible salt with trademarks such as "Lv Jie", "Poseidon" and "Keke" are produced and sold in many provinces of China. The beautiful environment there is no worse than those famous salt lakes.

The main reasons for the formation of Qinghai Salt Lake:

1. Geological structure: Qinghai Salt Lake is located in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which is greatly influenced by crustal movement and tectonic activity. The rise and fall of the earth's crust formed a salt lake basin, which provided a geological basis for the formation of salt lakes.

2. Climatic conditions: The climate in Qinghai Salt Lake area is cold and dry, and the average annual precipitation is relatively small. In this climate, the evaporation rate of lake water is faster than the recharge rate, which leads to the gradual increase of lake water concentration and salinity.

3. Surface runoff and groundwater recharge: The water source in Qinghai Salt Lake area mainly comes from precipitation and surrounding surface runoff. Precipitation and snowmelt water flow into the salt lake through rivers and gullies, and gradually replenish the salt lake water body. In addition, groundwater may also be replenished to the salt lake through leakage.
