Legal basis: Article 31 of the Tourism Law of the People's Republic of China * * * Travel agencies shall pay a deposit for the quality of tourism services in accordance with the regulations, which shall be used to compensate for the damage of tourists' rights and interests and to advance the emergency rescue expenses when the personal safety of tourists is threatened.
Article 2 (hereinafter referred to as the "security deposit") of the Measures for the Administration of the Access of Security Deposit for Tourism Service Quality refers to a certain amount of money paid by a travel agency in a designated bank or guaranteed by a bank according to the provisions of the Tourism Law of the People's Republic of China and the Regulations on Travel Agencies, which is used to pay the compensation for tourism service quality and the emergency relief expenses paid in advance when the personal safety of group tourists is in danger.
