Which province is Zhangjiajie?

Zhangjiajie is Hunan Province.

Zhangjiajie, formerly known as Dayong, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province. Located in the northwest of Hunan, in the middle and upper reaches of Lishui River, it belongs to the hinterland of Wuling Mountain, with a total area of 95 16 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over two municipal districts (Yongding County and Wulingyuan) and two counties (Cili and Sangzhi). It is one of the most important tourist cities in China and the revolutionary base of Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing and Guizhou.

Zhangjiajie is a picturesque tourist city. With 3,000 peaks and 800 beautiful waters, it is known as "enlarged bonsai, reduced fairyland" and "the highest scenic spot on the ground". It has the first batch of world natural heritages in China, the first batch of world geological parks, the world's "Zhangjiajie landform" named place, the first national forest park in China, the first batch of 5A-level tourist attractions in China and the "six gold business cards" of national civilized scenic spots.

There are more than 300 scenic spots in the city, including 3 1 scenic spots above 3A level, including 2 scenic spots at 5A level and 4 13 scenic spots at 4A level, with an annual tourist flow of more than 80 million.

The origin of Zhangjiajie's name:

"Boundary" has two meanings in a city: one is territorial boundary, and the other is high mountain. The Daoguang edition of Yongding County Records in Qing Dynasty wrote: "Wuxuxi originated in Zhangjiajie." The Republic of China edition of Cili County Records reads: "Suoxi originated in Zhangjiajie." Zhangjiajie here refers to the surrounding area of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park today.

The name Zhangjiajie was first seen in the preface to Zhang's Genealogy in the fourth year of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty (163 1). The author of the preface is the sixth generation grandson of Zhang Wancong, the governor of Yongding. During the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty (1488~ 1506), the court saw that Zhang Wancong had made meritorious service in guarding the country and gave him the "land of mountains and forests" in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park as a fief. So he went up the mountain with his family to run his business.
