Suzhou Museum is located in the northeast street of Suzhou, with a total construction area of 26,5 square meters. This is a new museum with an investment of 339 million yuan. The new building has a total construction area of 7,5 square meters, mainly consisting of one floor and two floors. For the historical features of this block, the new museum adopts the basement, with the ground floor as the main floor, and the cornice height of the main building is controlled within 6m; The central exhibition hall and the west exhibition hall are two floors, 16 meters high. As an important part of the new Suzhou Museum, the old Palace Museum is closely connected with the new museum, making the new Suzhou Museum a comprehensive museum integrating modern architecture, ancient architecture and garden innovation.

in the overall layout, the new museum skillfully uses the water surface to integrate with the adjacent Humble Administrator's Garden and Loyal Palace as an extension of its architectural style. The new museum complex is located on the north and south sides and is divided into three parts: the central part is the entrance, the central hall and the main courtyard; It is the main exhibition area of Xicheng Museum; To the east is the sub-exhibition area and administrative office area. The layout of the east, middle and west roads is symmetrical with the central axis, and the pattern of Zhongwangfu on the east side is very harmonious. The architectural environment of the new museum and the original Humble Administrator's Garden is a whole, which not only meets the requirements of the historical architectural environment, but also has its own independence. It combines them with the central axis, garden and garden space, regardless of spatial layout and urban mechanism.

On the south side of the pedestrian street opposite the main entrance of the new building, there is a Little Square by the river. On both sides of Little Square, according to the principle of "old as old", a number of ancient buildings were restored along the street. Ancient buildings have become supporting areas for public services such as calligraphy, painting, handicrafts, teahouses and snacks.
