In Malay, it means "nine states". Sembilan itself is a state in Malaysia, located on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula. Located in the middle of the west coast of Malay Peninsula. It covers an area of 6,646 square kilometers.

The population is 724,000 (1990), and the state capital is Furong (Malay: Furong). In the north, there are Jibao and Wunong Mountain with low hills, dense forests, tin mines and swamps. Rubber forests extend in valleys and southern coastal plains. There are many rice fields in the inland valley. There are coconut groves by the sea. The highway network connects all towns in Dazhou. Located on the east coast of the Straits of Malacca, Podshin is the maritime gateway of the state and the petrochemical base of Malaysia. There are tin mines along the coast.
