I would like to ask how far is the newly opened Shenzhen-Xiamen High-Speed ??Railway Xiamen Station from Gulangyu Island? If possible, can you provide a detailed route? What are the fun things to do
The Xiamen-Shenzhen High-speed Railway only goes to Xiamen North Station, which is outside Xiamen Island and about 25 kilometers away from the city center.
To get to Gulangyu Island, you have to take a ferry, so the route you need to take is actually from Xiamen North Railway Station to Xiamen Ferry. There are two ways to go:
1) Take the BRT (rapid bus) at Xiamen North Station, and take the dedicated elevated highway to the island without traffic lights) from Xiamen North Station (starting station) to the First Pier (terminal station) ), the total journey is about 30 kilometers, about an hour and a half, and the fare is 3.5 yuan.
2) Take any train from Xiamen North Railway Station to Xiamen Station (i.e. Xiamen Railway Station on the island). The journey takes 20 minutes and the fare is 8.5 yuan. Then take the BRT from the entrance of Xiamen Station. Get off at the first pier, the fare is 5 cents, and the journey takes 10 minutes (look up after leaving Xiamen Station, and you will see the BRT on the light blue elevated highway).
It’s a 900-meter walk from the first pier to the ferry
If it were me, the second option would be my first choice:)
As for the above You have already listed all the attractions yourself. Whether they are fun or not really depends on everyone’s own subjective judgment. For example, some people think that the Piano Museum just displays some old pianos. A friend of mine went to Gulangyu Island and spent almost a whole day in this museum. No matter what, if you have never been to Gulangyu Island, you should definitely visit Xiamen, just like you should always visit the Great Wall when traveling to Beijing. If you think it's fun, stay a little longer. If it's not fun, go back to the island quickly. I don’t know if you agree with that?
There is one place, the Underwater World. I can responsibly advise you not to go in. The ticket price is expensive and there is nothing to see. If you like to see aquariums, the one below the Oriental Pearl Tower in Pudong, Shanghai is much better than it.
