Traveling to Portugal, what materials are needed to apply for a Portuguese tourist visa?

Required materials for visa application

1. For short-term (Category C) visa, see "Schengen Visa".

2. Long-term (Category D) visa.

(1) An application form that is completely filled out and signed by the applicant, and attached with two 3.5x4.5cm photos with a white background taken within the last 12 months.

(2) Passport (the validity period shall not be less than 3 months after the expiration of the visa to be applied for, and there shall be at least two blank visa pages) and personal information pages. If there are extension pages and visas from other countries, copies are required.

(3) Notarized certificate of no criminal record in China (translated into English or Portuguese), and double certified. (If the applicant stays in other countries for more than one year, he or she must show a clean criminal record during the stay).

(4) Original household register and copies of all content pages and English or Portuguese translations.

(5) Hotel reservation confirmation form.

(6) Proof of the applicant’s financial status.

(7) Air ticket reservation.

(8) Accidental injury medical insurance covering the entire travel period, including medical and medical rescue coverage of at least 30,000 euros. Provide originals and copies.

(9) Notarized copy of academic/professional qualification certificate (translated into English or Portuguese), and double certified (visa applicants who seek medical treatment or accompany sick family members abroad for medical treatment do not need to provide this document) .

(10) Persons under 16 years old and without civil capacity must present a consent form from their parents/legal guardians when applying for a visa. No criminal record certificate is required.

(11) Depending on the type of visa and the purpose of applying for the visa, the following additional materials are required:

1) Employment contract

a. By both parties The signed work contract must be notarized in Portugal.

b. In accordance with legal provisions, provide a recruitment approval certificate issued by the Portuguese Labor and Vocational Training Bureau.

c. If the applicant’s occupation requires relevant professional qualifications according to legal provisions, the applicant must present a professional qualification certificate issued by the relevant Portuguese institution.

2) Self-employment or investment-purpose visa

a. Self-employment: a work contract signed by the applicant and the employer. If applicable, relevant professional qualification certificates are required.

b. Investment: A statement stating investment intentions, including investment scale, investment amount and period. Relevant evidence of the applicant’s previous business and investment activities. Financial or banking certificate for investment activities in Portugal.

3) Engage in R&D work, teach in higher education institutions, or engage in high-tech work:

a. Certificate issued by an official agency for research activities, admitting the applicant to a certain research institution The proof of employment can be a work contract, a service contract or a scholarship (study). Scholarship certificate from an official institution. Teaching in a higher education institution: A contract of employment or services with a higher education institution. Engaged in highly technical work: A work contract or service contract is used to prove that the applicant will be engaged in highly technical work.

4) Visa application for study, secondary school exchange students, internship or volunteer work:

a. Study visa university:

l Higher education Proof of admission to the institution (scholars holding Cammons scholarships do not need to provide this).

l Proof of scholarship, if applicable. Secondary School:

l Minimum age requirement.

l Certificate of secondary school enrollment.

l Proof of accommodation, which can be issued by a local family in Portugal or in other forms.

l Training contracts and plans. Volunteer work

l Applicants must meet the minimum working age.

l Acceptance certificate issued by the host organization where the applicant will participate in volunteer work.

5) Visa applied as a performer

a. Work contract signed by the applicant and the Portuguese inviting party.

b. Previous work experience or proof of experience in related fields must be notarized and double certified.

6) Family Reunion Visa

a. The original approval document issued by the Portuguese Immigration Bureau (foreign abbreviation SEF).

b. Meet Clauses 98 and 99 of Portuguese Regulation No. 23/2007.

c. If applicable, notarized marriage certificate and double certification.

d. If applicable, notarized birth certificate and double authentication.

e. Notarized certificate of kinship and double certification.

f. If parents seek refuge with their children, they must provide relevant proof that the parents are financially dependent on their children in Portugal.
