Yanmenguan

Introduction of scenic spots

Yanmenguan is located in Yanmen Mountain, about 20 kilometers north of Daixian County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, China. It is an important pass on the Great Wall, known as "the first pass in China", and it is said that "there are nine jams in the world, and the wild goose gate takes the lead". Together with Ning Wuguan and Pianguan, it is also known as the "Outer Three Passes" and is one of the national key cultural relics protection units.

Yanmenguan Scenic Area is a tourist scenic spot with military defense historical sites and sites as its main landscape resources, displaying frontier fortress culture, Great Wall culture and pass culture. Zhao Great Wall in the Warring States Period, Qi Great Wall and Ming Great Wall in the Northern Dynasties, and historical architectural relics of different grades, uses and shapes such as besieged city, Guancheng, Wengcheng, Aicheng, Bingbao, beacon tower, school yard and Guguan Road.

Recommended tourism projects

(1) Yanlou

There is a tower on the natural barrier door, that is, Guanlou and Mingyou. Sitting west facing east, it is 5 rooms wide and 4 rooms deep, surrounded by cloisters. The building rests on the top of the mountain with double eaves, with a partition door in front, a brick wall between the two roofs, and a brick wall behind it except for two round windows. On the flat square, a bucket arch stands, with a blue-gray tile on the roof, a big kiss at both ends of the roof, and wind chimes hanging around it. The building is empty. In history, its main function was for soldiers to inspect and watch, and now it is enriched into an ancient building museum.

(2) Pass

Pass is the northern pass of ancient Yanmenguan, commonly known as Baicaokou, and it is one of the eighteen passes of Yanmen. One pass and two castles, Taihe Castle in the south, Changsheng Castle in the north, separated by continuous mountains. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Baicaokou was the crossroads between the north and the south, along the ancient Yanmen Road, business travel continued. The pass is built across the river, with Sandao Pass wall, six closed doors and six fort platforms, which are connected with the Great Wall from east to west. There is a pass gate with the words "accommodating people and animals" on it, and a fort platform with the words "Monkey Ridge" on it.

(3) Natural barrier gate

The natural barrier gate is the gate on the south side of Guancheng, facing west, and it is the first gate in Guannan, with a height of12.5m.. Its main body was built in the Ming dynasty, and the incomplete part was renovated in 20 10 to restore the Ming style. The plaque above the door is engraved with the word "natural barrier". The original wooden door of Chengmendong was 1, but it no longer exists. The bluestone slab at the entrance is the original of the Ming Dynasty, and the clear rut marks of more than 600 years still tell people the colorful and glorious past.

(4) Crossing the Wild Goose Peak and Wild Goose Pagoda

Located on the north slope of the natural barrier gate. Crossing the Wild Goose Peak is the commanding height of the north slope of Guancheng, with an altitude of 18 19 meters, echoing Longshou Mountain in Yingxian. There is a pagoda on the top of the mountain, named Wild Goose Pagoda. In ancient times, in order to watch and transmit military information, it and beacon towers formed an early warning system. At present, a solid brick tower with four sides and nine layers of dense eaves has been rebuilt on the original site of Yanta, which is as high as 2 1 m and has become one of the landmark buildings in the scenic spot. Standing on the Wild Goose Peak and looking around, "Wild Goose Pagoda Town is in danger, overlooking the poor side, and Wan Li is long" (a poem by Wang Ming), which gives you a panoramic view inside and outside the mountain.
