Is it true that tourism builds a bridge between BRICS countries?
Sun Jie, CEO of Ctrip, spoke at the BRICS Business Forum as a representative of Chinese and foreign tourism.
Sun Jie mentioned in his speech that although the global economy is undergoing profound changes, tourism is still creating more jobs for the world. Nearly 20% of the employed population in China is directly or indirectly engaged in tourism, and the tourism industry chain involves thirty or forty industries such as transportation, accommodation, catering and cultural creativity. Ctrip continues to penetrate into domestic third-and fourth-tier cities, further narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor, and benefiting millions of families by creating employment opportunities without damaging the environment.
With the closer ties between BRICS countries, tourism is also stimulated by multiple interests such as exchange rate, visa and flight. At the meeting, Sun Jie also shared the progress of in-depth cooperation between Ctrip and BRICS countries in the field of tourism.
