Meihuajiang is a tourist attraction.
On the eve of Dragon Boat Festival, we boarded the cruise ship Meihuajiang. As the cruise ship slowly pulled out of the dock, Mei Huajiang showed us her beauty as a beautiful girl. Originally, some seats were specially prepared for tourists, but many people stood at the bow, scrambling to aim at the beautiful scenery in front of them with digital cameras.
Among us, several writers grew up by the Meihua River. I knew Meihuajiang and its beauty from their works a long time ago. According to the writer Chen Shufen, when she was a child, she and her friends often caught fish and touched shrimps by the river. At that time, there were green camphor trees and clear sand on both sides of the river. ...
Before I came to visit Meihua River, I knew some beautiful legends about Meihua River: a long time ago, there was a drought in western Guangdong, and the sun scorched people. When the Jade Emperor knew this, he sent his little daughter to the world to spread the wind and rain. But the youngest daughter is naturally interesting. She has never been to the world, so she forgot her father's instructions when she was playing: it only rains one day and one night. It rained for three days and nights, and the flood caused flash floods in western Guangdong. The flood washed away people's homes and people fled for their lives. When the Jade Emperor knew about it, he immediately recalled my daughter. In order to recover the damage caused by her little daughter's fault, the Jade Emperor ordered her to cut off the clothes embroidered with flowers, and gathered the flood on the earth into a gushing river, hence the name Meihuajiang.
The tour guide of Taohua Island Scenic Area said: Before the reform and opening up, people on both sides of Meihua River were poor due to annual floods. Especially in the late 1950s, people cut down a large number of trees along the river to make steel, which led to soil erosion and countless fertile fields were destroyed. Some people want to change the status quo, raise money everywhere, and build temples beside the river bank at the head of the village, hoping to seek the protection of the gods. However, the status quo has not changed, and people are watching the grain that is about to be harvested being swept away by the flood. It was not until the 1990s that people planted trees on both sides of the river and built strong dams to stop floods. Now the river is still there, but the fairy can't be found anywhere. But that beautiful legend, like the wind blowing gently on my cheeks on the Meihua River, stirred my thoughts.
Lin, a female writer, also grew up by the Meihua River. She just bought a large-capacity digital camera online and has been taking pictures with it since she got on the boat. She doesn't even care if the people next to her talk to her. She reminds me of a passage I read in the collection of essays "Grateful Meihua River" (Chen Shufen): "We have a great responsibility to protect and build our great mother river-Meihua River, making its water clearer, sand whiter, fish fatter, grass greener and sky bluer. According to the requirements of constructing ecological Meihua River, it will be the responsibility of our whole society to build flood control, transportation and drainage facilities on both sides of the river, prohibit illegal quarrying and sand taking on both sides of the river, implement soil and water conservation measures, and formulate the implementation plan of water conservation forest project in Meihua River basin for the benefit of future generations. " This is full of sonorous words of gratitude and responsibility. Some people say: "One side of the soil and water will nourish one side." As you can imagine, people born and raised in Sri Lanka like this beautiful river, which gives them beautiful words.
The water of Meihuajiang slowly pushes our cruise ship. The river bank is covered with green camphor trees, and some buffaloes are grazing comfortably in the shade. Due to the recent rain, the river is not as clear as before, but the rain flowing into the river makes the beautiful Meihua River more magnificent. Where the ship passed, the river was rough. The beautiful scenery on both sides of the strait passed by with the cruise ship scene after scene, and some people kept cheering for the beautiful scenery in front of them.
Unconsciously, our ship has docked at Taohua Island Pier. Sitting on the bus back to the city, looking up at the sun that has been with us all day, it has already slipped into the distant valley.
