The Department of Tourism Development and Management of Chengdu University of Technology is an emerging advantage department serving local social and economic development. With the authorization point of academic master of tourism management, it has formed the teaching and research characteristics of tourism development and planning, hotel management, exhibition management and so on. The teaching team of tourism management major in our department is the first excellent teaching team established by Chengdu University of Technology.
At present, the department has formed a trinity tourism talent training system, in which the undergraduate major of tourism management is a school-level characteristic major. The students of our department have won the titles of "National Advanced Class Collective" and "Sichuan Advanced Class Collective" for many times, and won many provincial and above competitions such as "Sichuan Summer Social Practice Excellent Team" and "Challenge Cup" extracurricular scientific and technological works competition for college students. Graduates of our department are very popular with employers, and the employment rate has remained above 93% for many years. Graduates are all over the country, and most of them have become the backbone of tourism around the country.
This department pays attention to scientific research, and it is one of the units in the province that prepare tourism development plans and tourism scientific research projects for local governments. In recent years, teachers in our department have successively undertaken more than 50 national, provincial and ministerial-level and horizontal entrusted projects/kloc-0, which has made positive contributions to local social and economic development. In recent years, teachers in our department have published more than 200 papers and 7 academic monographs, and won 2 provincial scientific research achievement awards. At the same time, giving full play to the advantages of our department in tourism scientific research and implementing the reform of "research-oriented education" have achieved certain results in practice and won the second prize of outstanding teaching achievements in Sichuan Province.
Urban and rural planning department
The department is characterized by personnel training and scientific research in the analysis and regulation of the spatial process of human activities, urban planning and design, urban evolution and environmental coupling, land use/cover change, ecological landscape restoration and so on. There are authorized points for undergraduate majors in "Human Geography and Urban and Rural Planning" and master's degrees in physical geography.
The department has a team of teachers with reasonable age, academic qualifications and professional titles. There are 8 full-time teachers, including 2 professors, 2 associate professors 1 person, Japanese trainees 1 person, national first-class registered architects 1 person, 2 doctors and 4 masters. Teachers of this department have undertaken or mainly studied more than 60 national, provincial, ministerial and horizontal entrusted projects, published more than 90 academic papers, and edited or participated in the publication of 8 academic monographs. He has won the first, second and third prizes of scientific and technological achievements of the university, province and Ministry, the outstanding achievement prize of social sciences philosophy and social sciences, and the first prize of outstanding scientific research achievements of provincial higher education society.
This department not only undertakes the teaching of urban and rural planning courses, but also offers postgraduate courses such as land planning and management, urban planning and design, modern urban design and operation, landscape design procedures and methods. The experimental design room of urban and rural planning has been set up, planning knowledge production bases have been built in Leshan, Emei and Shiling, Chengdu, and long-term and stable off-campus training bases have been established with many provincial, municipal and local planning institutes, forming a cooperative talent training model in Industry-University-Research.
Some graduates of this department have been admitted to universities such as Tsinghua and Peking University, and all graduates are generally well received by employers. With the deepening of urban and rural development, the future society needs a large number of urban and rural planning talents.
Landscape architecture department
The Department of Landscape Architecture was derived from the Department of Tourism and Urban-Rural Planning in 2003 and was established in 2005. It is mainly responsible for the teaching, discipline construction and scientific research services of landscape architecture. The Department of Landscape Architecture has a complex discipline group of science and art based on ecology, botany, architecture and aesthetics. There are 9 in-service teachers, including professor 1 person, associate professor 1 person, 7 lecturers, 3 doctors, 4 in-service doctoral students and 2 masters. They come from the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Agricultural University, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Sichuan Agricultural University, Southwest Jiaotong University and other universities, majoring in landscape architecture, Chinese painting, horticulture and forestry. At the same time, there are 2 visiting professors and 3 external teachers.
The "Garden Laboratory" belongs to the "Experimental Center for Tourism and Urban-Rural Planning and Design", in which the related laboratories of the garden specialty include: garden plant room, design drawing room, regional planning room, art room, model making room, reference room, drawing evaluation room and microcomputer room; Three long-term and stable teaching practice bases have been established: Dujiangyan-Longchi-Qingcheng Houshan Cognitive Practice Base, Campus Landscape Architecture Practice Base and Emei Mountain Practice Base.
The Department of Landscape Architecture has a landscape architecture undergraduate major, which mainly trains engineering and technical talents in landscape planning and design and landscape engineering construction. Currently studying students 180 people. By July of 20 10, * * had trained five 164 undergraduate graduates and won the third prize in the first "Garden and Metallurgical Cup" landscape architecture international competition (graduation works and papers). Most of the graduates are located in landscape architecture planning and design institutes, engineering construction enterprises and urban construction management departments.
Teachers of this department have presided over more than 30 national, provincial and university-level scientific research projects, with an average annual expenditure of more than 500,000 yuan. He has won the second and third prizes of scientific and technological progress in universities, provinces and countries for many times, and published 5 monographs and more than 50 papers. The department has a landscape design office, which belongs to the Institute of Tourism and Urban Planning. He holds a master's degree in landscape architecture and a doctorate in physical geography and Quaternary geology (agricultural geology and landscape geology). His research interests mainly involve environmental landscape construction, plant resources development and utilization, biodiversity, agricultural geology, garden plant protection and other issues. Postgraduates 14, 35 postgraduates and 6 doctoral students.

The Department of Architecture was established in 2004, with 8 full-time teachers, including professor 1 person, associate professor 1 person and 5 lecturers. Recruit master students majoring in architecture and human settlements and master students majoring in architectural and civil engineering.
The Department of Architecture has an undergraduate major in architecture, with the aim of "strengthening the foundation, deepening the major, cultivating the ability and highlighting the characteristics". The characteristics of student training are: having the knowledge background of "science and engineering and humanities, technology and art", integrating the professional knowledge structure of "architecture, city and landscape" and having the knowledge concept of "ecology, environmental protection and sustainable development".
Students systematically accept the study of architectural preliminary, architectural art, architectural history, architectural design principles, urban planning principles, architectural design, interior design, garden landscape design, ecological architectural design, computer-aided design, building materials, building structure, building structure, building equipment and other knowledge. Teaching postgraduate courses in human settlements science, building materials and environmental safety.
This major enrolls 30-60 students, and the current employment rate of graduates reaches 100%.
Sino-British cooperation education project department
The "saint Plan" of the School of Tourism and Urban-Rural Planning of Chengdu University of Technology is a Sino-foreign cooperative education project approved by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education and put on record by the Ministry of Education. It is awarded with a double diploma and implements higher vocational education. This project was established in 2003 by the cooperation of Chengdu University of Technology and Edge Hill University in England, and it is "the first international cooperation project in Sichuan Province".
The Sino-British project fully relies on the advantages of Chengdu University of Technology and Shan Zhi University in the fields of international tourism management and international hotel management, and its successful operation has been strongly supported and highly valued by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education.
The Sino-British project introduces the pure English education mode and actively explores the international cooperation training mode of tourism and hotel management talents in line with international standards under the background of global economic integration. The project is committed to creating an all-English language environment, adopting the educational concept of combining theory with practice, realizing "Chinese-English joint reading, mutual recognition of credits and global employment", and cultivating a large number of international talents in tourism and hotel management urgently needed by China with Chinese-English double diplomas. This project has hired more than 20 foreign teachers, many well-known experts and professors who have been teaching in Chengdu University of Technology for many years and experienced young and middle-aged teachers. It has been widely recognized by domestic and foreign tourism enterprises and British undergraduate universities for its high-quality teaching level, first-class education management system and perfect teaching facilities.
