Guangdong Zhanjiang Mangrove National Nature Reserve (hereinafter referred to as the Reserve) was built in 1997, with a protected area of 2_8 hectares, and it is the largest mangrove wetland reserve in China. Zhanjiang Mangrove Reserve is not a single protected area, but consists of 72 protected communities scattered along the 1,556 km coastline of Leizhou Peninsula in the southwest of Guangdong Province. These protected areas are composed of mangrove communities, tidal flats and related intertidal habitats. The protected areas joined the Ramsar Convention in 2_, and have become internationally important wetlands since 2_, The Chinese and Dutch governments protect and manage the natural resources of the reserve and its coastal zone through the Sino-Dutch cooperative mangrove comprehensive management and coastal protection project (hereinafter referred to as IMMCP project), which assists the reserve in restoring and protecting mangrove wetlands and related coastal natural resources. The project involves many contents. The focus is on the restoration, protection, education and management of mangroves.
The total area of Zhanjiang Mangrove Reserve is 2_88hm, of which there are 24 species of mangroves belonging to 15 families with a forest area of more than 7,8 hectares. Zhanjiang Mangrove Nature Reserve is the most widely distributed mangrove reserve in China, which is not only the habitat and breeding place for resident birds, but also the gas station and stopping place for migratory birds. As an international migratory bird passage, in addition to many resident birds such as Gulls and Passeriformes, there are also a large number of migratory birds (including cranes, storks, herons and raptors) that need to stop in the nature reserve on their way from Japan, Siberia or northern China to Australia every autumn and winter, making the nature reserve a passage for international migratory birds from China, Japan and Australia. According to a preliminary survey, there are 194 species of birds in mangroves, which are listed in the national key protection list. There are 34 species of key protected list in Guangdong Province, 149 species of national "three-owned" protected list, 8 species of Sino-Japanese migratory bird treaty, 34 species of Sino-Australian migratory bird treaty, 5 species of Sino-American migratory bird treaty, 1 species of appendix I and 7 species of appendix II to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Wild Fauna and Flora, and 4 species of endangered birds are listed in the red list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.

Zhanjiang mangrove reserve is rich in mangrove resources, which provides a good habitat for forest and marine animals. In September, 2, the mangrove biodiversity survey team of Zhanjiang Ocean University conducted an inventory of fish and shellfish in six mangrove areas of Leizhou Peninsula. The inventory results showed that there were 11 species of shellfish in 38 families, 3 classes, and 127 species of shellfish in 15 orders, 58 families and 1 genera. It is found that the four species of fishes recorded for the first time in the coastal areas of mainland China, namely, Meretrix rugosa, Chlamys anomala, and Oncomelania hupensis, are dominated by Perciformes. There are 65 species of important economic value in 27 families, 49 genera. Among them, there are 28 species of shellfish and 32 species of fish. < P > Mangroves are woody evergreen plant communities that grow in tropical and subtropical bays and estuaries, with graceful shapes. Unpredictable, because it grows in saline soil submerged by tidal waves for a long time, it forms a unique ecological characteristic that adapts to the environment: it has viviparous phenomenon, grotesque respiratory roots, pillar roots and plank roots, leaves secrete salt, and so on. It is rich in plankton, and the forest landscape inhabited by a large number of birds and fish, shrimp, crab and shellfish can be seen in mangroves, which is highly ornamental, knowledgeable, interesting and entertaining.

Mangrove swamp originated from natural coastal swamp wetland. Rivers include Jianjiang River, Jiuzhou River and Nandu River. Every year, rivers carry a large amount of fresh water, nutrients and sediment lost on land into the sea. The salinity of the water at the junction of fresh water and tidal salt water changes in a gradient, which is roughly between 1% and 3%. The salinity is mainly affected by the periodic change of tides and the rainy season. The beaches with different salinities at the estuary provide suitable growth sites for mangrove plants with different salt tolerance. The types of tides on the east and west banks of Leizhou Peninsula are different, and the tides on the east coast are irregular semidiurnal tides. The tide on the west coast is an irregular diurnal tide.
The soil in mangrove swamps is mostly saline swamp soil formed by shallow-sea sediments, tidal deposits and sediments transported by rivers under the growth of mangroves. Zhanjiang Nature Reserve plays a very important ecological role in resisting typhoon, slowing tidal current, promoting siltation and land reclamation, protecting banks, absorbing and transforming pollutants, and purifying seawater. 199: The Guangdong Provincial Government approved the establishment of Zhanjiang Mangrove Provincial Nature Reserve on January 1st, aiming at protecting the bird resources related to mangrove forest, located in Gao Qiao, Lianjiang, covering an area of more than 2 hectares.
in 1992, with the approval of Guangdong Forestry Bureau, the provincial protected area management station was established in Lianjiang Gao Qiao.
in 1995, Zhanjiang municipal government applied to expand the protected area and upgrade it to a national protected area.
in 1997, the State Council approved the upgrading of this protected area to a national protected area. On November 7th of the same year, it was renamed Zhanjiang Mangrove National Nature Reserve.
since 2 _, the Chinese and Dutch governments have protected and managed the natural resources of the reserve and its coastal zone through the Sino-Dutch cooperative mangrove comprehensive management and coastal protection project (hereinafter referred to as IMMCP project). IMMCP project helps the reserve to restore and protect mangrove wetlands and related coastal natural resources. The project involves many contents, focusing on mangrove restoration, protection, education and management.
2_: Zhanjiang Mangrove National Reserve is listed as an internationally important wetland by Ramsar Convention.
2_: the director (1 person) and deputy director (2 people) of the nature reserve are officially appointed, and the employment of the staff of the nature reserve is in full swing.
Guangdong famous mangrove tour guide 5
Welcome to this place! I'm your tour guide. My last name is X. You can call me Xiao X. In order to facilitate your visit, let me introduce you first.
Qi 'ao Island in Zhanjiang has a mangrove wetland ecological protection zone that even Zhanjiang people rarely know about. Although little known, it is one of the rare marine forests close to big cities in China.
Mangrove is a unique evergreen shrub and tree community on tropical and subtropical coastal beaches, and it is the only green plant that can grow in seawater. Mangrove is the most obvious, abundant and complete ecological chain system. The surface value of its leaves is 25%-4% more than that of other forests, and its photosynthetic capacity is the strongest. Its fallen leaves, flowers and fruits are natural feed for plankton, thus forming a "sea, land and air" biological chain of plankton-small fish and shrimp-big fish and birds.
When I arrived in Zhanjiang, my classmates told me the news with great excitement and said that they would take us there in the afternoon. Although my classmates have been away from the environmental protection industry for many years, they have studied environmental protection in the end, and their concern for environmental protection comes from the heart.
On the way to Qi 'ao Island, my classmates introduced me that in 1995, a Hong Kong resident, Mr. Qiuming Wang, came to Qi 'ao Island out of a strong interest in wetland environmental protection, and set up a wetland park here after many twists and turns. At that time, there were only more than 3 mu of mangroves here. After several years of hard work, it has now reached more than 1,2 mu.
after I arrived at the mangrove wetland ecological park, I was a little surprised by the slightly dilapidated gate here. It seems that there are really too few people who know about this place. We haven't met any tourists during our stay here for several hours.
We rented a cruise ship and enjoyed the scenery here slowly in the water. In fact, mangroves don't look red at all, they are all green, so we asked the boatman. He told us that soon after cutting the bark, the wound would appear red, hence the name "mangrove". Mangrove is actually not a tree, but a tree family, including many kinds of maturity. According to the survey, Kandelia candel, Aegiceras corniculatum, Excoecaria agallocha, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza and Acanthus ilicifolius grow in the mangroves of Qi 'ao Island. True mangrove plants and semi-mangrove plants such as Acrostichum aureum, sea mango (Cerbera manghas), Pongamia pinnata, xushu (Clerodendrum inerme) and puchea indica. There are abundant fish, shrimp, crab and shellfish resources in and around the forest that adapt to the overlapping environment of salty and fresh water in this region. What is particularly striking is that this region is the sea area with the largest distribution area and the largest number of blue clams in the Pearl River Estuary, with an average habitat density of 1 642.9 /m2, and there are more than 1 species of birds such as Ardeidae and Anatidae that depend on mangroves. Therefore, it is a rich area.
Bird's Nest can be found from time to time in the waterways between mangroves. It was so quiet on the island that Fiona Fang couldn't see anyone for several kilometers. Perhaps because it is too quiet, the engine sound of our motor boat is very noisy, and birds are scared to fly from time to time, which makes us feel sorry. The son said that we should come by boat so as not to disturb the birds. It is said that there are more birds here in summer. In Qi 'ao's more than 3 hectares of mangrove mother forest, there is a bird's nest every 5 square meters on average. According to preliminary statistics, there are about 6, bird's nests, where 32 kinds of birds such as egrets, starlings, eagles and kingfishers live, and 1, migratory birds pass by every year. Here, for the convenience of bird watching, there is a bird watching pavilion on the island. If you have time, stay here for a whole day and quietly appreciate the rich feelings brought by nature.
Because of the unique seawater purification function of mangroves, there has never been a red tide around Qi 'ao sea area in recent years, and fish and shrimp can grow and breed freely here.
A few hours of sightseeing brought a lot of joy to the children. They met wild ducks, egrets and got to know mangroves here. Maybe we should all learn from Mr. Wang and really do some concrete and effective things for environmental protection.
