History and culture
Jilin Province has long been a place where Han, Manchu, Mongolian and other ethnic minorities live together. Southeast Jilin and Liaodong belong to the traditional settlements of Huaxia nationality. Yan, Qin and Han dynasties all set up administrative agencies here. About 4,000 years ago (Zhou), the Su protoss (called Lou in Chinese, Hong in Sui and Tang Dynasties, both Manchu ancestors) lived in the northern part of Changbai Mountain, mainly hunting and hunting, and were the original residents of this area. In the Tang Dynasty, Hou Ji established the Bohai Kingdom, with Jilin Province as the center, including parts of southern Heilongjiang Province and northern Korean Peninsula. The Song Dynasty established the State of Jin (Nuzhen). After the Ming Dynasty, Manchu's economic activities included animal husbandry, gathering, hunting, fishing and agriculture. The western part of the province, called Xianbei, Qidan and Tatar in ancient times, all belong to the same family of Mongols, mainly nomadic. The Northern Song Dynasty established Liao State, destroyed Bohai State, and reached the eastern part of this province. By the end of the Ming Dynasty, the whole province was still vast and sparsely populated, with dense forests and rich grasslands. During the Shunzhi period of Qing Dynasty, a reclamation order was issued to encourage farmers in North China to reclaim land in Northeast China, but in the fifth year of Qianlong (1740), a "refugee return order" was issued, and a ban policy was implemented. During this period, Changbai Mountain was designated as the hunting ground of Qing Dynasty, and Dongfeng, Meihekou, Huinan and Panshi were the royal paddocks. From the fate of Songhua River to Kaiyuan in Liaoning Province, wicker side walls were built. To the west is Mongolian pasture, and it is forbidden to cross the border. However, the ban policy of the Qing government failed to prevent a large number of Han farmers in North China from flowing into central Jilin and expanding to the north, east and west. 179 1 year, Mongolian princes also began to recruit people to reclaim land in Changchun area. Handicrafts and small market towns such as brewing have appeared in the agricultural reclamation area, and many Han and Korean people have moved in to engage in agriculture, logging and gathering in the Yalu River and Tumen River basins in the east. In the eighth year of Jiaqing (1803), the ban was lifted, and in the fourth year of Guangxu (1878), the reclamation bureau was established in Jilin, which greatly changed the economic outlook and gradually formed the differences between the eastern agricultural and forestry areas, the central agricultural areas and the western agricultural and pastoral areas. General Ningguta moved to Jilin from 1676 in the early Qing Dynasty, which was the beginning of the establishment of Jilin Province. Its jurisdiction covers the central and eastern provinces, the southeastern part of Heilongjiang Province, and the vast areas east of Wusuli River and north of Heilongjiang Province. In May of Guangxu's thirty-third year (1907), Jilin Province was formally established, with Jilin as the capital, and its jurisdiction spanned most areas of Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces today, including Jichang, Binjiang (Harbin), Yilan (three surnames) and Yanji, which lasted until the Republic of China. At the beginning of the 20th century, the railway was built. 1903 to 1929, completion of Nanman branch line, Jichang, Sitao, Jidun, Tiantu and Ji Shen lines of Middle East Railway. During the Japanese puppet regime, Changtu, Changbai, Mutu, Labin, Baia, Meiji and Yalin lines were also built. These railways have changed the transportation system and regional contact direction of Guanma Station with Jilin as the center, and Harbin and its related areas have also been separated from Jilin Province. Thereby strengthening Changchun's political and transportation status. Since 1945, China * * * Production Party has opened up the Northeast Liberated Area and established Jilin, Songjiang and Hejiang provinces in the former Jilin Province. 1April, 949, the northeast administrative region was redrawn, Jilin Province, the capital of Jilin Province, was retained, Hejiang Province was abolished and merged into Songjiang Province. 1June, 954 Songjiang province was revoked and merged into Heilongjiang province; The capital of Jilin Province moved to Changchun. The whole province covers an area of187,400 square kilometers with a population of 27,279,900. There are Han, Manchu, Hui, Korean, Mongolian, Xibe and other ethnic groups.
