Why is Liangzi Island closed?

There are problems with tourism safety, business management, and service quality, so the island has been closed for rectification.

It is reported that on October 21, 2017, the Liangzihu District Tourism Bureau of Ezhou City and the Liangzi Town People’s Government jointly issued an announcement: In order to comprehensively investigate and rectify the tourism safety issues in Liangzi Island Scenic Area exposed by “Hubei TV Political Questions” , operation and management, service quality, market order and other outstanding issues, to effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of tourists and ensure the safety of tourists’ lives and property, it has been decided to close down the Liangzi Island Scenic Area for rectification.

Liangzi Island is located in Ezhou City, southeastern Hubei Province, in Liangzi Lake, on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. Liangzi Lake is one of the freshwater lakes with the largest water capacity in Hubei Province and the second largest lake area in the province. It is the hometown of the famous Wuchang fish both at home and abroad. Crab is also a local specialty product. Location Liangzi Island is located in the southeast of Hubei Province, in the middle of Liangzi Lake, on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.
